Abhishek Iyer's Review On SIES Graduate School Of Technology - [SIES-GST], Navi Mumbai

I got admission on thr basis of my JEE Mains marks. I had scored 110. I was interested in Computer Science hence I took the course. I opted for this college because it was one of the best options available close to where I live be because I hate travelling everyday.

The course structure is very outdated since it's under Mumbai University. It's not the colleges fault but the university's fault. Mumbai University updated it's curriculum in 2007. After that, the portion was reduced in 2012 but we are still studying stuff which was new in 2007 which is actually pretty outdated in my field at least.

I have heard of only 4 people who got internships through the college and they are my seniors. Other than that, everyone had to arrange for their own internships through their personal contacts.

There's one Technical fest held in Odd semesters called cognition. It's a national level fest with around 3-4 events which has national level participation. There's a cultural fest held in Even semesters calld Tatva, Moksh, Lakshya which is okayish. May get into the top 10 college festivals in Navi Mumbai.

Exams structure is very tiring . They keep on pestering with useless tests. Don't even give question banks for the internal exams which actually carry marks. Practicals session is a big headache you have to sit for the fully allotted time i.e. 2 hours even though you are done with your work in half an hour.

I got admission through the Minority quota. I had a composite score of 91.8. Composite score was a combination of JEE mains + 12th boards marks which was used for admission process. I was selected through the cap process as well since I had a good score but I chose the minority way so that. I could secure an admission and still look for other colleges in the next cap round.

Some faculty members are excellent . They teach in an interesting way where you actually feel like listening to them and learning. Most of them are not upto the mark and we have to go through their lectures just to maintain attendance which is a big issue.
