Remarks
The admission procedure was pretty generic as they are in any state-specific colleges. One had to select the colleges they wanted to opt for, rankwise. Based on the marks he/she gets in JEE MAINS and the seat availability in the highest-ranked college one is given the choice of getting counseling in those colleges. After selecting the college, one had to show up in the college with their required documents for admission and had to pay the required fees for one semester or one year according to their convenience. One major thing that people from quotas have to keep in mind(as I made this mistake being OBC) is to ask for any offered scholarships upfront because the college committee won't tell on their own. Based on quotas and the annual salary of the applicant's guardians one can get scholarships. The counseling process otherwise was smooth and the committee was welcoming. The required documents were: 12th Marksheet 10th Marksheet Identity proof 12th TC JEE MAINS scores Character Certificate
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Bachelor of Engineering from Computer Science and Technology trade as wanted to explore all the real-life applications and developments in the world through computers and programming. The faculty: student ratio is good as the college is one of the few autonomous/semi-government colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Most of the faculty teaching B.E. has Mtech or higher degrees and is very knowledgeable. However, the teaching part is done mainly by the assistant professors while the senior professors assign themselves to the managerial part. Thus it takes a while for the assistant professors to develop a teaching skill, similarly, for the students to get accustomed to the professor's teaching method. The exams were organized every semester and were always timely. The level of the exams always ranged from average to tough. However, they can be passed from studying just a week earlier.
Placement Experience
I had gotten campus placement into TCS in my third year of college and I plan on working in the corporate sector for 3 to 5 years then starting my own business and becoming an entrepreneur. The placement records of UIT are not outstanding rather they are pretty average. The CTC offered ranges from 2 to 12 lakhs. The placement drive is a common-for-all-departments drive and other than CSE only a few core companies arrive for other department students.. The average package is from 3 to 4 lakhs given by mass recruiters like TCS and Infosys. Around 70-80% of the students who apply for jobs are hired by these mass recruiters. Other companies that have offered campus placement are Zycus, Persistence, Jaro, and Byju's.
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a semi-government college the fees are pretty affordable for all the courses. I applied for B.E. and my fees were 31000 rs per year, which could be paid in full or partially every semester. The exam fees was around 1300 rs per semester. There are several scholarship opportunities for students belonging to different quotas and their guardian's annual salary. Students belonging to quotas got 100% and sometimes more than 100% of their annual fees as scholarships depending upon which quota they belong to and their annual salary. Students from the states for Jammu and Kashmir also got reservations and could opt for scholarships. There were several sports scholarship and central scholarship opportunities too. Affordability-wise UIT RGPV is a highly recommendable college. There is an active employment cell consisting of alumni and students seeking to make managerial connections.
Campus Life
There are 3 major social groups in UIT namely: Insync Phoenix E-cell Insync and Phoenix are mainly for cultural and recreational events while E-cell is dedicated to employment-related events. All of these groups are very welcoming and provide you the chance of getting admitted to the group based on your interest and talents. The campus has a vast library having multiple books dedicated to each subject. The library is one of the best looking building of the campus too. The classes and labs are pretty standard, nothing really outstanding. However, in the past couple of years, there's been a major renovation going on. Hence one can expect higher technological instruments and better classes by 2022.
