Entrance Preview

I did not took any kind of entrance examination to take admission in this college. I directly filled out the admission form gave the test followed by an interview. They sent me the confirmation via mail. I opt for this particular college because it provide food technology and my interest in food led me to choose this. I am more interested in discovering, inventing and researching over new products rather than cooking a meal.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is well divided as a four year plan. The first year is based on basic engineering aspects and same as all B.tech students the subjects include economics for engineers, sociology for engineers, basic electrical engineering, engineering graphics lab, communication skills, foreign languages, applied chemistry, applied physics -1, fundamental mathematics, introduction to biology, foreign business language ( Spanish, German, Chinese and french), open elective courses and outdoor activities.

Internships Opportunities

No the college does not provide internship, but it helps in getting internship in various industries as the faculties have a contact with various food industries. The internship can or can not be stipend. It varies from industry to industry. The internship at research lab is not paid and it can be taken directly by applying there.

College Events

5

Amity University organizes Amity Youth Fest every year. In this fest each institute organizes competition related to its department. The fest takes place for three days and students from different colleges can apply in different competition taking place.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

I haven't availed any scholarship or loan and I am not aware about the same. For more details one can always contact the amity helpline number given on the website.

Campus Life

4

There are equal number of boys and girls in my department. The campus life is easy going and very diverse. On daily basis we get to see new people and meet them. People from different cultural background come together and it gives a chance to explore each other. There are various in house competitions on various occasions such as debates, poster making, best out of waste material on environment day.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes we are connected with our seniors on various social networking sites. They guide us through when we needed help during our industrial training. Their suggestions on Do's and Don't s during our training is quite helpful.

Exam Structure

The exams in each sem takes place twice once the internal assessment and then final exams for each semester. The internal assessment is done by including internal exams, presentations, group discussions, viva and assignments. The exam structure is not at all hectic and goes easily with the routine. We generally have exams back to back which helps in finishing them at faster rate as expected.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is not that good. Hardly 2-3 companies come here for foodtech. But there are job opportunities for this course. It is a growing field. Outside the campus, if applied in any company, there are chances of selection based on the skills and knowledge one has related to the field
