Entrance Preview

I got admission through AIEEE, this was my first choice of college in through the CAP process. My only two choices of courses being Computer Science and Information Technology, on getting Information technology at my college of choice, I was went ahead with the same. The admission process itself, since centralised was simple and easy without requiring too much time or extra visits to the college campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is very comparable with the computer science subjects with mostly just having a shuffle in the subjects. The course structure though good is rather rigid, with just a four electives in the final year of engineering. The electives though were varied was mostly very subject specific. Though there was ample opportunity to pursue research, it was not a mandatory part of the curriculum and the projects.

Internships Opportunities

The college did not have a concept of providing internships. There were a number of companies which offered internships for students for the final year project in the Information Technology stream. But, most internships, if not all were unpaid.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements are unusually good due to the diligence of the faculty and the alumnus of the college. Many company hire every year. Many people who utilized the job search facility provided were able to procure a job through the college. The job opportunities in the market as a undergraduate from PICT was good, that being said, not everyone got a job on completion of the degree.

College Events

2

There were a couple of events conducted and celebrated at PICT, given the relative small size of the college, the events though were well organized were rather small. Many students volunteered in these events, the most noteworthy event is the Impetus and Concepts, the technical fest hosted every year as well as 'addiction', the cultural fest hosted for our college students by predominantly the students themselves.

Fees and Financial Aid

Not aware of any scholarship availability for general category students. There are opportunities for freeships that can availed by some students. I did not avail any loan facility either. Some good education loans are offered by Private banks and facilities like Credilla and so on.

Campus Life

2

The campus life is enjoyable if you believe in abiding by the rules, though some rules could even be considered extreme. The gender ratio was nominal and a equal number of both sex were present. Though there was sine diversity, it could not be considered a global peer group, with people mostly from Maharastra.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is very strong and I even got a recommendation thanks to an alumni. Now as a part of the alumni community we are very proud to help in any way possible to give back to our college, by helping organize events that could benefit the students in discovering their area of interest and pursuing it.

Exam Structure

Exam schedule was predominantly decided according to the university exam schedule. The unit tests and leading exams were scheduled with ample time in between each other. Many labs sessions were conducted throughout the semester. Sometimes were hectic simply due to the fact that attendance was mandatory.

Admission

My admission was through the centralized process. I got admission in the first round of CAP(Centralized Admission Process). I had initially applied through the centres and provided a top 10 choices of college along with the courses offered. After the decision was provided, the college admission process required a campus visit and filling out a number of forms.

Faculty

4

The faculty are very dedicated and experienced. A number of the faculty members have considerable experience in teaching and some even had some industry experience. This proved especially important considering the course rigidity and the updation of syllabus only once every five years by the university. That being said, like most institutes, some faculty members were more effective than others.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Bachelor of education (B.ed) is a professional couse and hence I pursued this couse as I want govt job . Teachers are very helpful and internship was easy , we completed our internship at ease . They sent us to local schools which have less to no facilities, some school lack basic amenities such as bathroom and water . Even some schools have 10-20 student. All the schools are marathi medium , I was allotted rashtra saint tukdoji vidyalaya and sushil himmatsinghka vidyalaya, both are top school of wardha but the distance is too much.

Course Curriculum Overview:

They are scheduled the exams late sometimes which is not good for students because after that we don't have time to study like they give us the time of 1 month to study for semister exam and before the month is the internal exam that's why we didn't get the time for study for the semester exam

Admission:

The admission in the college is purely on the basis of rank secured in the common B.Ed CET by state government ,i.e, government of Maharashtra - MAH B.Ed CET. The student must have a bachelor's / master's degree and should have passed all subjects with 55% or more.
