Remarks

1)I apply to many universities like Lovely professional university , Chandigarh university, VIT etc but I found chitkara providing much more than what others provide . So I chose to study in chitkara university. 2) The admission process is quite simple . You just have to fill a form from from the website https://www.chitkara.edu.in/ and one of the mentors will call and guide you further . 3) on the counselling day , I was called in the university to submit documents like id proof (adhaar card) and 12th boards certificate, 10 class boards certificate ,character certificate , migration certificate address proof, passport size snaps etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

1) I choose CSE because I love to learn computer algorithms and the logic behind the working of all the software we use in our daily life. I was really passionate about the backend part of all the websites working like how the big companies are able to handle so much load of billions of users. How do they manage to secure the personal data of all their users and customers,I am also a cyber security enthusiast and I am exploring this field on daily basis. 2) Faculty to student ratio here is quite decent like there is one teacher and one extra teacher for every 50 students. Students can ask doubts and teachers are also quite cooperative. 3) Most of the senior faculties are masters in their fields. Many of them are Phd holders in their respective subjects. 4) tests are like There are three kinds of exams in the university a) Fa (formative assessment) which happens every week once. The level of Fas' is quite low as these are like for practice. b) Sts (sessional tests) once in 2 weeks.

Internships Opportunities

4

Placements commence in the 5th semester of your engineering and go on till the 8th sem. On average atleast 70-80 companies come for placement in Computer Science and Engg. You can get an internship before the 5th sem and gives you a nice exposure for 6 months as you can learn a lot when u enter the IT world.

Fees and Financial Aid

Talking about the fee of this college I would say that it is not less obvious. But if we look at the facilities they are providing, then we can say the fee is quite okay Fee Hike -> 5% fee hike is every sem according to the college. Fee Structure: 92k for the first semester (82k tution fees and 10 k security amount which will be refunded after course completion) and 82k for every sem after it. Hostel fee: there is a total of four hostels COLUMBUS, IBN BATUTA, VASCODAGAMA, and a girls hostel. different types of facilities are there like the common washroom or attached washroom, ac and non-ac, etc. base hostel fee is around 60k per sem in the new hostel. There is no scholarship for any of the programs.

The library is awesome With around 10k books and all are free. The sitting facility in the library is also quite good. Separate tables and chairs are arranged in a way that no disturbances happen to anyone. In a quiet environment, you can study for hours without any disturbance. Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.
