Course Curriculum Overview

4

It wasn't the curriculum that made me chose this course, I chose it because I wanted to do it. Whatsoever, the curricullum is good, as you get ample time to prepare for other things and also do internships. Many new technological courses are also provided and infact included in the curriculum so that we are industry ready. The curricullum is very relevant and we are actually taught practical needs .

Internships Opportunities

5

internship and apprentise opportunities are available by companies. Just a few days back PlaySimple did their drive for interns at 35 thousand stipend. And likewise many other industry specific companies come and conduct their drives.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are offered and good companies also viist it. I am in third year and I have been intop a few placement drives and it is good. The problem is there are a lot of students, however not many are eligi ble due to the criterias, but still the competition is high. Comapnies even provide decent packages of 7LPA median.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is 2 lakh 40 thousand. Plus 4000 examination fees annually. There is also a security deposit of 2000 which is one time and is refundable. There exists a scholarship test CUCET, based on this test score, one can get upto 100% scholarship, which is very rare as you have to score 90% in the test to get 100% scholarship. Under 89% only 50% is rewarded. 40% scholarship if scored under 79%, and it goes on. There is finnacial aid available in the terms of loan within the premises, not externally applied. Education loan can also be applied from outside banks. But CU has internal loan system as well with different terms and higher interest rates.

Campus Life

5

The clubs, the extra curricular activities part of this college is awesome. I do debating and orating, The department of Art and Cultural Affairs took to me Mumbai, Pune, Delhi for competitions and all costs were taken by the college. You just have to represent your college and win. The only need is you have to be good at what you do. There are a lot of people from different parts of the country so it's diverse society, so we learn a lot. There are innumerable clubs and all doing their work and conducting events and workshops and even have budgets to run. Its a well speculated environment for any student.

Admission

I wanted to come to this college because of the college life. the college life is good, no doubt but it is strict and there is pressure in semster days which I didn't knew earlier. I already got admiited to this college before my government counselling of other colleges are done. And somewhere i was happy because this college is good to be in and enjoy. The admission process is simple, you apply for the CUCET exam, if you clear it you are in and also provided scholarship based on the score. After that you pay the fees and join the classes. Quite simple actually. You don't have to visit the college before your college starts.

Faculty

3

A few teachers are good and few are just for the sake. there are a lot of students so the faculty to student ratio is less and classes have a lot of students. The course structure is ystematic and it goes smoothly even if someone says it's fast paced, but overall it is good. There are two mid semesters and the end semsters are stricly monitored. The marking scheme is based on percentile system. The grades will be decided on how many students scored how much in a certain subject.

Night Life

5

There are basketball courts, badminton courts around, where after classes students come and play. There are a lot of cafe's in the campus itself. Domino's Pizza, Burger Singh and a lot of franchise outlets. the night life is good. People come out after classes, meet and have fun. There are no campus in timings for day scholars. Hostel timings for girls is till 8 pm, and there is no in time for boys hostel. There are almost 12 libraries with 2 main libraries. There are gyms in every hostel with their own timing

Other Applied Colleges

Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology - [JIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering)

i wanted to move out of my hometown and CU had good placement records and the fees was also decent and affordable

Placement Experience:

In Chandigarh University you are being elligible to sit in the placement from the end of the 6th semester . A large no. of companies visit the unversity daily for all type of departments talking about my department , companies like Zopasmart , JTG , EY , JP Morgan , TCS , Cognizant , Deloite and many other companies came for the college comapnies with ann average comapny selected upto 10 -12 students . Till now the highest package offered is 37 LPA for the role of software developer . Talking about the no. of students placed from the total students in the batch i would say less then 30% percent of the total students have been placed from the university campus placements till now . Curently i am also focusing on the campus placements to get a start to know more about the corporate world , If i am unable to get a campus placement the i ll go for offline interviews and spends 4 to 5 years in the field after that i ll start my own buisness .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The tempo is always going here strong as academics are strong and tough too. We don't get much breaks or vacations inbetween the semester and even guest faculties invitation and their lectures are also amazing. So upstick in academics is always here and extra bit of things are there in our academics.

There are many campus placements in my college. Students become eligible for campus placement from the 6th semester, and major companies start coming during 7th and 8th semesters. Major reputed companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant and Accenture visit the campus every year and offer good number of job to students . The highest package of my college is 3.5 cr. The average package for CSE students ranges between 4 to 6 LPA depending upon the company and students skill. Profile offered include software developer, data analyst.A good percentage of eligible students get placed every year as the university provides proper training, mock interviews, and skill development programs. After completing my degree, I plan to secure a good placement through campus recruitment. Later I may also consider for showing higher studies.
