Remarks
The admission process was kinda simple, easy and hassle-free. I applied online for the application on DCRUST's official website. The physical counseling round could be attended in two forms: physically or telephonically (Due to COVID-19). I chose the telephonic way. On the day of counseling, I received a call from the university asking me to opt for a branch from the available branches. So I had to choose ECE as CSE seats were filled. We had to pay the fees online within the next 2 hours of confirming the admission. The documents were already uploaded with the application form so there were no worries. That's it. This is how I got admission in DCRUST, Murthal, Sonipat.
Course Curriculum Overview
The First Year curriculum is the same for all the B. Tech branches. The teachers are well qualified and hold at least a Masters's degree with many teachers having/pursuing Ph.D. degrees as well. The professors are very helpful and understand the problems of students. There are various departments in the university having all kinds of well-equipped labs for the students. There are two sessionals (internal exam) and one final exam (end sem) in each semester. There are also practical lab exams just before the end sem exams. The checking is kinda strict and marks are given less. There is 1 subject teacher for 70 students.
Placement Experience
The placements are average. Most mass recruiters visit the campus giving an average package of 3-4 lacs. Placement opportunities are kind of less as we get less exposure. Although the Training ad Placement cell provides help to the students to get placed and also prepare them for the interviews and technical rounds.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees per year for the courses in the universities is very reasonable and affordable. The university comes directly under the State government and hence the fees hike is minimal. The fees is rarely hiked in 5-6 years. Moreover, there are many scholarship opportunities for students belonging to various categories mentioned in the university brochure.
Campus Life
The annual fest in the university is Rhythm and Technova. But as the 2020 batch, we didn't get the chance to see any. Coming to the Library, it is the major highlight of the university. It is a huge building situated in the center of the academic blocks. There are a huge number of books available for the students. Many e-books are also available on the library portal and app. The classrooms are ok. There is no AC so in summers, its too hot. The university has a huge playground for all types of sports and extracurricular activities. There is a basketball court, tennis academy, indoor badminton court, gym, volleyball court, cricket ground, football field, and a running track. The NCC and NSS are two groups run in the university for the students. There are many societies as well in the university like Swag, Pratbimb, and Think boots.
Hostel Facilities
The room is quite spacious for a single person. The hostel provides an almirah, bed, chair, study table, and a balcony too. The only con is the nonavailability of AC rooms which is really a headache in summers. Although we can bring our own coolers still we have to pay some amount for the same. The mess food quality is good. We get breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the specified time. Overall, the hostel facilities are good. The hostel registration is done online and the payment is also done online in advance. The hostels are allowed on the spot after verifying the payment details. The general store is just a 5 min walk away from the hostel premises and we can get all the required things there. The complex also comprises a print shop, juice and vegetable shop, hair salon, bank atm, and canteen.
