Remarks
Gave NMAT for NMIMS. No quota. The Rank was 1600 something. Was called for the counseling process. Was given Civil first as the branch but as I wanted 'IT' and it got changed within a week. Too many applications for CS, IT, and Electronics. There was a management quota also but did not opt for it. Applied for SRM University as well and got through but did not go for the counseling process as I got through NMIMS.
Course Curriculum Overview
IT was my main interest. The college had the best IT faculty as compared to other departments. The student ratio in my batch was 60-40 for boys and girls respectively. All the faculty was highly qualified. Term exams were tuff and checking papers was even more difficult. Getting backs/KTs was very normal here.
Internships Opportunities
No internships are offered from college. you have to get your own. stipends were 10000-15000 on average. There were placements offered but no internships as such. projects were taken in college during 4th year in both the semesters.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements in the 7th semester. The highest package was around 16 LPA and the average was 4.5 LPA. 80% of the students get placed usually. My interest was not clear so did not opt for placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship or financial assistance. Fees hike was done 10-15% every year. IT was 265000 for 1st year and it got hiked every year. Campus Jobs were not available except obviously the placements which were ok and decent. If you're one of the toppers in class the placement will be good otherwise average package was 4.5 LPA.
Campus Life
Fest happened in November. The college had a great cricket and football team as well. The library was loaded with books. There were many communities created by students in different domains. NO space as such and no campus life as it was a 1 piece building. That's how colleges are in Mumbai.
