Remarks
The process of admission is by jac Delhi website. It should not be confused with josaa counseling. Outside Delhi, candidates have more chances to get a seat in the spot round. So i recommend you all to participate till the spot round. Admission is based upon the Crl of a person and belonging to its respective category.
Course Curriculum Overview
Each semester consists of 5/6 subjects. Each subject consists of total 100 marks which include your sessionals, practicals, etc. Here is the main point which i would like to tell you that in our college, proper mid sem and end sems are not conducted( was used to occur when corona was not there and classes were offline. The college follows a system of continuous assessment in which the end term examination (end sem) is replaced by 3 class tests(best of 2 are taken for evaluation) and 2 surprise tests(best of 1 are taken into evaluation) and for the midterm component( mid sems) we have to make a project in a team of 2 members related to the subject and have to present in the front of the subject teacher. The project can be in the form of ppt presentation, report writing, poster making, annotative bibliography, etc.i chose this course because i was reluctant to join computers, so i wanted to choose between ece and ee branch and due to my rank, i got ee in dtu. Ee dept has 52 faculty.
Internships Opportunities
For tech, an ample number of internship opportunities will come. But as the number of students is very large, so you have to fight more to get an internship. If you want a core internship, then for ece,ee many companies such as texas instruments, Qualcomm. Etc come for an internship but the number of students selected is very less. So you need to work very hard if you want to grab a core internship. The projects which you have to do depends on the fact that you want to grab a tech internship or a core internship.
Placement Experience
From the starting of the 7th semester, students become eligible for the placements. The companies visited in dtu for 2020 21 sessions were 311. The offers made were around 1500 among 1925 students of 2017- 21 batch. The percentage of students getting placements depends on the branch which you would be pursuing. If you are from coe,it,se,mce , then it won't create much problem if u want to go to tech/coding field. Now for ece and ee , the remaining circuital branches ece has an edge over ee. But as the coding culture is way better than many colleges. If you are from a circuital branch, then u are eligible to sit in placements in maximum companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
If your family income is greater than 8 lakhs, then you will not get any scholarship, financial assistance, etc. Now coming to the fees, here the fees is charged annually not semester-wise. The tuition fees in dtu for 2020-24 batch is 8.44 lakhs. The tuition fees for the 2021-25 batch will be 8.9 lakhs. The change in fees is because the fees are increased by 10 percent every year. For the 2021-25 batch, you will be paying your tuition fees of 206000 in 1st year, 219000 in 2nd year, 229000 in 3rd year, and 236000 in your 4th year. If your family income is less than 8 lakhs and if you are a Delhi student, then you can avail scholarship but for this, you have to apply separately on the district portal of the Delhi government.
Campus Life
There are 3 fests conducted by the university known as engifest, technical fest, and literary fest. Engifest is usually conducted in the month of February. Dtu library has a rich variety of books. Various national and international journals are present inside the library. I can't comment on classrooms as i haven't studied offline in my college( 2020-24 batch student). Regarding sports, tournaments are conducted in which various colleges participate known as ahvaan. There are various societies that are run by the students such as ieee, society of robotics, debating society, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The facility provided in the room is average. You will get a bed, 1 almirah, 1 study table, ceiling fan etc. The food served in the mess is also good. It costs you 2700 per month( mess charges) in which you will get breakfast, lunch, supper, and dinner. You will get a hostel only if you are admitted only through the outside Delhi quota. The hostel accomodation charges are 28500 per year. The registration process of the hostel is online or offline ( depends on the hostel authorities).
