Entrance Preview

I have given Maharashtra common entrance test and scored 66 marks in it outta 200 marks. I choose this college because this was one of the top colleges of Pune at that time. It was a reknown college at that time.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course structure was not that good in my time. But the college has made quite a few changes in the teaching faculties as well as the lab assistants since then so hopefully my college is going to be one of the best colleges in Pune in the nearest future.

Internships Opportunities

Yes there is a compulsory internship semester for mechanical sandwich and production sandwich branches in our college. The students are placed at very great companies for internship such as Mercedes Benz, Ford motors, general motors, atlas copco etc.

Placement Experience

The placement was not that good till the year 2014 as the training and placement officer was not that smart to bring on the companies but since after 2014 the trading and placement opportunities has been shining as every year almost 100% of the students gets placed in our college.

College Events

There are various events taking place in our college such as Shivanjali it is the major event basically it's a cultural event, Ashwamedh : it's the sports and technical event.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships for economically backward students such as EBC. But there are none of the concessions for general students who pays fees in lakhs but does not get any concessions.

Exam Structure

Yes, the laboratory practicals are taken frequently and there is. Lecture of 2 hours everyday which is dedicated to the lab. So it is kind of hectic as sometimes we have to perform practicals for upto 4-6 hours .Exams are not that frequent so it's not at all hectic.

placements start in 7th - 8th semester . Companies like wipro cisco and TCs etc visit. Average package is 4-5 LPA , and highest I could say 9 to 10 LPA .. my plans would be- if not got high paying job on campus I will try off campus too..

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

SIT is best engineering college of Pune!!

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Admission: I had also applied for top colleges of Pune with tech related branches but the main reason I can't get their is due to high cutoff of colleges I had applied for top colleges like VIT Pune,PCCOE Pune ,PICT Pune ,D.Y.Patil Pune etc and through cap process depending on my percentile I get my current college AISSMS IOIT Pune and I confirmed for these I sorted the colleges depending on some parameter like last year cutoff, placement percentage, autonomous or not etc My college is in Maharashtra so around 80% of seats given to the students who are admitted through Maharashtra state entrance exam for engineering that is MHTCET and remaining 20% are seat are for candidates who admitted through JEE MAIN score so most students peffered MHTCET Exam for admission in our college The overall addmission process is like after declaration of result student make list of colleges and branches those he want to take that list is in a sequential manner then student had to upload that list on portal of MHTCET after 2-3 day result of that list comes and the college which is allocated seen to us then it depend on us that we want to confirm that college and branch or go for next round total 3 rounds are take place in that process and after confirmation of college reporting has been done offline to the college for final addmission process...Read More

Reviewing the journey up till now !!

I gave several exams and cracked them , but due to some or the other factor , I couldn't choose any other college. Due the ongoing CBSE boards, I couldn't register for MHTCET which is apparently a state exam for MAHARASHTRA . You can opt for different colleges in MAHARASHTRA after giving this exam.
