Remarks

At first, you need to clear the BHU UET entrance test, and then if your rank is eligible then you would get a counseling call letter from the university on which the date timing and all the details related to it would be mentioned. On the official portal of BHU, You need to fill a choice form regarding the subjects which differs according to the stream. If you are selected after counseling then you need to lock or confirm your seat by paying the semester fee which is around 3600/. *Although this process was for 2019 from 2021 onwards NTA is taking exams according to "New Education Policy".

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Agriculture is a subject which gives you overall knowledge about all subjects, it is like a necessity whose scope would never cease, if you have even a little connection with nature then this subject will strengthen your bond. Even in this pandemic, the importance of agriculture was evidently realized when everything was closed/stopped but not agriculture. In IAg.Sc BHU there are a lot of reverends and knowledgeable professors are there for every subject. All faculty members are into some research or are a part of eminent organizations like ICAR. There is a separate department for each subject and with the practical laboratories so not only theoretical but practical knowledge is also given importance. The exams are taken as per the schedule and a sincere student who understands concepts &dont hesitate to ask questions wouldn't face any difficulty in exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

You would get many opportunities for exploring yourself in the form of seminars, paid and Unpaid internships. Many companies like Iffco, kribhkar, etc come at the end of the 8th semester. Even in the first year onwards, you would get opportunities to develop your intellectual skills.

Placement Experience

4

During the course, a Summer internship is organized by the college where students get a chance to visit the fisheries institute of Kolkata, IIVR, etc. In the final year,7th semester the internship programs under SRP(student ready program) is available for students for which they are paid a monthly stipend of 3000/ for 6 months. This gives students practical work exposure and knowledge to work outside their comfort zone In the 8th semester many companies like iffco, kribhko,as well as banks. Visit the college and accordingly the students have selected however the majority of students go for the after plans of graduation whether it be Jrf, Msc entrance, Mba(CAT)Competitive exams for government jobs, etc. The 4 years on the campus would help you learn many things. which would shape your personality and help you decide your career, the seminars, etc keep happening which would fill you with lots of info. Many govt. Organizations like NSS and NCC are also there which open a new dimension for you.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is very minimal considering the current scenario for one year it is almost around 3600/ only. An important point is if you got admitted to the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU through ICAR entrance Exam (All India counseling)then you would get a scholarship of about 33000/ on yearly basis but you need to maintain a Cgpa more than 7 (this is tentative). There is a form of Mandi Parishad which also provides scholarahips stipend every year but that is for students of Uttarpradesh only as it is a state government scheme. In 4th year you would get an opportunity to do internship for which you would get stipend accordingly.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is full of greenery and each and every part is decorated through landscaping, it's like a different world inside BHU. The institute of agricultural sciences has a Vishwanath temple at its front which fills the place with spiritual vibes, there are shops alongside it. The annual cultural fest is called"SHRISTI" which is for 3-4 days including all events related to dancing, singing, writing, poetry, storytelling, quizzes, debate, group discussions. The winners are awarded trophies and certificates. It takes place in Feb/March The annual sports event is "SAHAS" this is also organized in Feb. All types of sports competitions are held on agricultural grounds. The winners are awarded medals and certificates. Seniors welcome freshers by organizing"ABHINANDAN". The Institute of Agriculture has its own library and the central library is just at the front where all types of books and journals are available which the students can get issued through their library card. Classrooms are spacious well-ventilated.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are separate hostels for Boys and Girls and the hostel is also allotted through counseling, i.e. your rank.80% weightage is given to your marks at the entrance and 20%to the distance of your place of living from BHU and accordingly, the counseling list is prepared. Yes, while filling the counseling form/choice form you must opt for the choice of hostel whether you want the hostel or not then only you would be able to participate in hostel counseling. Even if you didn't get the hostel through first counseling then don't worry if hostel seat remains vacant then further counseling is done after 3-4 months. The hostel fee for a semester is 3600/ for the mess you have to pay separately, the quality of food is good, every morning at breakfast they give a fruit along with the paratha and all, lunch is also good, at dinner they give you something sweet either kheer or any mithai, the hostel rooms are clean and hygienic and in greenery and most important there are enough bathrooms and they are clean.

Placement Experience:

Students get placed in starting of 4th year that is 7th semester. The companies that often visit are pradhan co.pvt.ltd, seed companies and drone companies also companies like Nestle and britannia visit for placements. Highest ctc in 2025 was 19LPA and the avg was 7.5 LPA these data are also available on nirf site. Nearly 30% students get placed because remaining prefer higher studies over placement, those who are financially weak consider placement. My plans are different, I'm preparing for CAT and want to persue mba in agribusiness management from iim ahmedabad or iim lucknow.
