Best Experience at IIT-K

IIT is the best and top college of India. I always wished to study in any one of IIT. It is the best college for placements and other great opportunities. So I did my best in JEE. As per the rule JoSAA counselling rounds are held. Admissions are strictly on the basis of JEE scores and JoSAA counselling. Total 7 rounds are there. I had opted IIT Kanpur in my preference and got the seat. I immediately confirmed the seat. After that required documents such as 10th, 12th marksheet, passing certificate, LC, birth certificate , passport along with their photocopies and two passport size photographs went to the college for verification and confirmation. After that fees has to be paid .

Teachings are excellent. Syllabus is designed in such a fashion that every aspect of stream is covered. Faculties are PhDs and researchers they impart high knowledge. First six semesters of the three year comprises of practical and theory subjects. Fourth year has two projects one each per semester. There are two elective subjects in semester six. Physical education is also compulsory. Frequent quizzes are conducted to keep us on toes. Every semester has exams and mid semester exams along with tests. Faculties pay proper attention and guided us in projects.

Placements are superb. Many well known companies visit the college for campus recruitment. The highest salary package offered was 19 LPA and the average salary package offered was 12LPA. Top recruiters include Gail limited, Infosys, Cognizant technologies, IBM, HDFC, ECom Express, HSBC and Zirca. Off campus also jobs are gained because of the reputation of the college .

The total fees I paid for my B Tech was Rs. 8,64,000/- . Meritorious students can get up to 100% scholarships. Scholarships are provided to reserved category students according to government rule. Other scholarships provided are Donor scholarships, INSPIRE scholarship, External scholarship and sports scholarships. Each scholarship has different eligibility criteria. Sports scholarships are given to maximum 20 students who show excellent performance in sports.

I thoroughly enjoyed my campus life. Techkriti is the annual tech fest. Every year it is based on a different theme. Many famous personalities has visited our college as speakers, like A.P.J Abdul Kalam , Richard stallman and Rakesh Sharma. P.K. Kelkar library is the main library in the campus. Sports facility are top notch. E-library is well equipped with e-journals and periodicals. There are many clubs like dance club, dramatic club, english literary club, hindi sahitya sabha, music club, quiz club, etc. for students for their development. Their are workshops and seminars conducted frequently.

There are 10 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel. Hostels are known as Halls of Residence. Mess facility is very nice. Mess operates at mid night also so that students studying can have access to food. Mess timings are 2pm to 2am. Mess Menu is given on the website. Menu includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Common recreational rooms are provided having T.V. Reading room has various magazines and newspapers for avid readers. There is a computer room located near the hall lobby for students to access internet. Gymnasium is also well equipped. Intra hostel competitions are held. students living at hostel celebrate festivals like Janmasthami, Ganesh utsav, makarsankranti and garba is there in navratri. It was a wise decision to live on campus.
