Entrance Preview

Exam - VITEEE 2011, Rank - 1816 I chose this college over other because of the international exposure provided by the college to its students, excellent facilities and a great opportunity for personal development. I chose Mechanical Engineering over other courses because I like machines and cars.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course selecting mechanism is called FFCS, where we can choose our own class timings and the professors we wish to be mentored from. That gives us the right to distribute our electives as per the pre requisites. Everything is carried out online and also there is an option to alter your courses till one week after choosing them. There are three types of courses - Learning-based, Project based and Research-based. Depending upon your preference you can select the type. At the same time there are slots for every ion. If the slots are not available, you can not select them. The system is really good if utlised properly.

Internships Opportunities

In terms of internship for under-graduates, there is no such provision. We have to find internships for our self. Though few companies offer internships while placement. But no company comes exclusively for placing interns in their organisation. The college does provide internship as to people who want to pursue their career as a professor.

Placement Experience

4

The placement opportunities are good. There is placement training one semester in advance, before the companies start coming to the campus for recruitment. The companies don't just recruit for the core Jobs but also for other type of roles. the packages are decent starting from 3 lakhs p.a. to 15 lakhs p.a.

College Events

4.5

There are two major fest granted by college administration Gra VITas . The technical fest where student from various colleges across India come to show their technical forte. Various competitions to show off your technical skills are held.

Admission

The form was procured from a local stationery shop in the month of November 2011. It was an online notification indicated on their site. We had to fill forms and send them via post. The process was smooth. We received our admit cards in about 3 weeks from the date of submission. After the test, the results were released and we sere called for counselling after a month.

Faculty

3.5

The Faculty is good. There are 4 designations for a faculty - Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor and Senior Professor. Most of the associate professors are PhDs. They have deep knowledge of their subject and they apply it practically in their high end projects. The professors maintain a supportive environment and allow student to work on their research with them and give deserving credits to the students.
