For me the college days were just amazing. All the students and the teachers were very helpful. The atmosphere was very conducive for study and other related activities.
Entrance Preview
I appeared for JMET (Joint Management Entrance Test) then conducted by IITs and IISC Bangalore for admission in the management courses for IITs and IISC Bangalore. I scored 97.3 percentile and my All India Rank (AIR) was 323.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was too good. IN DMS, IITD, there is duel specialization MBA programme. One major and one minor. One can have a specialization in Marketing (Major) and Finance (minor). My specialization was Marketing (Major) and Strategy (minor).
Internships Opportunities
I have done my summer internship IBM on global Marketing Strategy.The stipend offered was Rs. 18000 pm.Leading companies like GE, Citibank, ICICI, RPG, IBM, Wipro etc. recruited summer interns from this college and the stipend varied from Rs. 15,000 to 30,000 pm.
Placement Experience
Some of the above companies offered PPO (pre placement offer) to the candidates. Companies like GE Capital, Citibank, ICICI, RPG, IBM, Wipro, Infosys, Vodafone, Airtel, Idea, SBI Capital, Lehman Brothers etc. Came for the final placements. The package was from Rs. 7.75 Lac pa to whopping Rs. 18 lac pa.
College Events
We celebrated events for Industry Interface with various industries and CEO,s of leading companies. We also celebrated events like BII (Build India Inc.)
Fee Structure And Facilities
IIT Delhi being a Government Institute, the fees were very nominal. The total fees were divided into two parts, hostel fees and college fees. The college fees were about Rs. 70,000 per semesters. The hostel fees varied from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 6000 pm.
Fees and Financial Aid
I had taken education loan from Bank of Baroda. Since it was a Government Institute, the loan was available for all the leading banks on the production of the offer letter from the college.
Campus Life
Parties were held in the college auditoriums and workshops on management case studies were frequently held. There was due tolerance to gender, ethnicity, race etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels were good, specious with individual rooms for each students, having internet connection. There was common room and places for various activities like table tennis, badminton etc. Every hostels were provided with washing machines. Food were ok. The
Alumni/Alumna
There was huge alumni network which includes the ex students of B. Tech, IIT Delhi. The alumni network helped a lot in bringing new companies for internship and also for placements. The alumni network also helped in bringing leading companies of industry interface.
Exam Structure
Exams were divide into 4 semesters. In addition to these, regular class tests were also there. The final grades are allotted based on the average of the 3rd and 4th semesters.
Faculty
Faculties are all IIT standards with huge industry connection. Visiting lecturers were also there from leading Industries houses like E&Y, Ranbaxy etc.
