MIET- MBA

I applied for the Jammu University but after coming to know about the fact that MIET provides more campus placement opportunities than Jammu University I dropped the idea of getting enrolled there. I didn't avail any quota for admission in MIET. For admission, you should have a maximum of 50% marks in graduation and appeared either in CAT/MAT and have to clear the GD and PI round to get enrolled in MIET.

I did my graduation in B.COM (Accounting & Finance) and to explore more about the Finance sector I opted for the MBA(Finance). The faculty members in MIET is really awesome and helpful they use to believe in effective communication and always boost their students to give their best. There are 10 teachers and 65 students in the classroom. The term exams conduct immediately after the completion of the semester and are not really hard to clear.

Companies like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, YES Bank comes in the campus for providing internship opportunities and give different tasks to the candidate in the tenure they have applied for. In my case, I got the task of managing the finance sector of the company.

After the exams of the 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Pepsi and many more visit the campus for providing job placements. The average salary package they provide is 5lakh-8 lakh. Almost 80% of students got the placement from the campus. I'm looking forward to making my career in the finance sector.

The course fee is INR 80000 and is much reasonable if we compare it with other private institutes like SMVDU, LPU and many more. In MIET there is no scholarship programme provided to the students and companies like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, YES Bank, etc. provides internship opportunities to the students.

Every year they conduct a cultural-tecno festival named "SAMMILAN" in which the students from the different streams get a chance to showcase their talent. MIET provides every kind of facility to their students and that too in the availability of books and journals in the library, they provide books with the latest editions to the students. Intercollege competition always takes place on the campus. ABVP is a social group run by students.

The topic of my GD was "how digital marketing plays an important role in the growth of a business". After that a PI takes place and the faculty members appointed by the university conducts this interview in which they asked some questions related to my background and after that, you'll get a call/email from the university regarding your selection. In my case, i started preparing for these rounds after the completion of my graduation and also took the help of my elder sister.
