Remarks
The reason for not attending the applied colleges was that COER is a prestigious college in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. The minimum mark for admission criteria is 60%. The admission process was very smooth. Counselling required a day only.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because had an interest in construction management. The faculty: student ratio was upto 1:20. The basic qualification of faculty was M.Tech or PHD. Teaching method was theoritical with virtual screening. Exams were basically divided into Internal and External i.e quarterly and half-yearly.
Internships Opportunities
Companies for internships were NHAI and some IT Companies as well. Projects included civil, mechanical, electrical and IT projects. These were basically dependent on the stream you're possessing. My project was Construction of Flexible Pavements using Plastic Waste.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students were eligible for placements. Companies visited- Mobilloite, Extramarks, Sopra Steria. The highest package is 7 LPA, the average package is 3.5 LPA. The percentage of students getting placements is 40%.
Fees and Financial Aid
There were no fees hike policies as such. The cost to study was approx 120000. It was affordable as compared to other colleges. Campus placement was limited but companies like Extramarks Education, Sopra Steria, Mobilloite, etc came to hire.
Campus Life
Annual Fest- ZION, HARITIMA Tech Fest is EXPRESSIONS. There were approx 1000 numbers of books and journals available in the Library. The amenities that were available in classrooms were projectors. Sports and co-curricular activities were fest organising, football match, cricket match, volleyball match on state and college levels. Clubs- Linguistic committee, Oorja.
Hostel Facilities
Facilities- Bed, Water, Table. The meal quality was good and vegetarian. No non-vegetarian food was allowed. The registration process was smooth and affordable. We were in Hostel only. However, some students resided in PG.
