Remarks

I only applied for colleges in Mumbai. Because of 70:30 quota got this wonderful college in first Cap-round itself after that the admission process was quite smooth as we were guided at each and every step

Course Curriculum Overview

I opted for Electrical engineering because of my own interest. The Department of Electrical is one of the best departments in FCRIT with highly qualified professors and supporting staff. The teachers here take care of students just like school-going students. Weekly assignments and tests help students prepare well for the final exams.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 136000 per year

Placement Experience

The placement training starts from the 5th semester. For the technical part Department, the staff placement coordinator will take tests however for the aptitude part external training is provided which is optional. Students are allowed to sit for placements after 6th semester. The number of core companies visiting college is less compared to IT companies. Companies visited in 2020-21 are Tata power ,Torrent power ,L&T, Burns & McDonnell, Godrej and Boyce ,TCS ,LTI ,Cognizant ,Infosys ,Carwale etc

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are Rs1.36 lakhs for general category students. Every year two students are offered scholarship from IEI. The placement training starts from 5th semester..for technical part Department staff placement coordinator will take tests however for aptitude part external training is provided which depends on student to take it up or not.The students are allowed to sit for placement after 6th semester.The IT companies visiting college for placements are more compared to the core companies.

Campus Life

Academics are given more priority compared to extracurricular activities.The library has vast collection of books and national and international journals.Anually two college fests take place in college one of which is called FACES(intra college fest) and the other one is ETAMAX(inter college fest).There are various clubs in college like Robotics club, Dramatics club,Social cell etc. students can be a part of respective club depending on their interests.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Bookworms are welcome, engineers are not

The eligibility was cet and jee marks based only. The last round cutoff for this college in mechanical was around 80%ile in mhtcet. But it was higher than 95%ile in comps for general. The admission process was easy just bring a cheque and fill up few forms and give documents and done. I had choosen many other colleges over this i even got accepted in mit wpu and talen admission but i am a local mumbai person and i woshed to stay here so i gave up that admission. I also didnt get admission in the crce bandra due to only a small difference in the cutoff. And i had no idea about the ACAP rounds. I understood about acap and tried taking admission in vesit chembur in robotics but idk i changed my mind and stayed in fcrit because i thought i dont like coding at all and thus staying in core mechanical would help me sustain my engineering life....Read More
