Remarks
I only applied for DTU and got admitted to the same. I availed Delhi region quota. Students who passed their 12th standard from a school located in Delhi get 85% reservation in the college admission. We had around 7 rounds of cut-off released for the JEE Mains score. The admission process was mostly online except the final day for document verification. The process was really slow, I had to wait a lot. Other than that the process was pretty easy.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose B.Tech because I wanted to do engineering and I chose Electrical Engineering because it was the relatively best branch for me according to my score in JEE-Mains. The faculty was a mix of both rude and friendly but almost all of the teachers were highly qualified and knowledgable. We had exams twice in a semester- midsem and endsem. The endsem usually had a weightage twice that of the midsem and all the scores were added as it is for final grading. Passing is rather easy because after adding the scores of midsem, endsem and internals, we had to score around 35 for passing. And if the exam was really tough then this was sometimes reduced even.
Internships Opportunities
There are in-house interships provided by the college apart from the companies visiting on campus. Stipend is around 2.5k for the in-house internships offered by the college. We can also work on projects under the faculties of the college. Overall getting internships is not that easy.
Placement Experience
Students are elligible to sit for interships in the fifth semester and for regular placements from the seventh semester. We have a lot of big names visiting the college for placements including Amazon, Qualcomm, etc. Highest on campus package goes to around 40L afaik and average placements are around 8L across profiles. Almost all the students who are interested in getting a placement get placed. I'm planning to work in the job i got in the campus placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee was hiked 10% every year and was to be paid once annually. I did not get any scholarship myself but students from economically weaker backgrounds did get scholarship from the college. The overall cost of studying in the college was around 6.9L for the full course. I was placed in Collegedunia in September of my final year and generally you are not allowed to sit for further placements if you get placed once.
Campus Life
We had 4 major fests every year namely: Yuvaan- the literary fest of the college in January; Invictus- the techfest of the college in February; Engifest- the main cultural fest of the college right after the techfest in February as well and at last we had the sports fest of the college-Aahvaan in March. The library is good and spacious with a lot of relevant books. Classrooms had projectors and ACs in them, although not all of them were always working. There are a lot of social media groups for students to join online and but there's no official group. We had groups run by helpful seniors.
Hostel Facilities
I stayed in the college hostel. All the rooms had basic amenities like a bed, fan, lan port etc. All the other things we had to get on our own. The mess was nothing different from what you expect from a govt college hostel mess. The only upside was we had non-veg for dinner on Wednesdays. Hostel is usually allotted only to the students admitted to the college from outside Delhi quota because the seats in the hostels are limited, but there are new hostels under construction right now. Registration for hostels is partially online and partially offline. The hostel fee is around 18k for a year excluding the mess charges, so I'd say its pretty affordable.
