Remarks
Admission process was on the basis of MHT-CET and Jee Main scores. Also, there are 3 merit lists for admission. CSE branch had the highest cutoff about 160-170 followed by Mechanical and then EXTC. I secured admission in the first merit list round on the basis of my MHT-CET scores for EXTC branch (150 cutoffs in the first round). There are also various quotas like OBC, BC and Christian quota because this institute is of Christian Minority.
Course Curriculum Overview
In the EXTC branch, the teachers are holders of MTech/ ME or PhD. Some even are members of society like IEEE, IETE etc. They have published research papers in prominent conferences and Journals like the IEEE journal and conferences and even encourage students (especially the final year students) to present their project/ technical papers in their conferences. There are weekly surprise tests, monthly internal assessments, practical exams, Prelims and the End sem exams.
Internships Opportunities
College encourages that student should do internship right from the second year. They have tie up with Coursera wherein students can do online internships. Also, they bring in alumni who have founded startups so that students can intern in those startups. They generally get to learn technologies like AI, ML, Web development, Content manager etc which is very beneficial in building a good IT profile.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements in the final year (i.e. in the 7th semester). For the EXTC branch, the companies who visited this year are- TCS, Larsen and Toubro Infotech (LTI), Cognizant, HCL Technologies, QSpider and Maxval. The highest package offered was 10 Lpa and the average package is about 4 Lpa. Companies selected candidates mainly for Software Engineering profiles.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fee was about Rs 1,36,000 wherein Rs 1,21,000 included tution fees and the remaining amount was for infrastructure facilities like labs, stationary (offered in the college itself), University exam fees etc. As far as placement is considered, many IT recruiters came this year and the placement ratio was fairly good.
Campus Life
There are 2 fests conducted annually. The first is 'Faces' conducted during the odd term and the second is 'Etamax' conducted during the even term. Faces is a cultural (mainly sports) fest while Etamax is a techno-cultural fest. Apart from that, the EXTC department has 2 committees i.e. the SEED committee and the IETE ETSA committee both of which conduct intra- departmental events like project competitions, social awareness events, seminars etc.
