Remarks

Had applied to various colleges however F.C.R.IT name and culture made me select the following college. Hence, Applied via the Management quota since my grades didn't qualify with the normal cutoff. However, the list for the same is also filled hence requires good grades as well. Hence even though there is tough competition the college experience is worth all the process.

Course Curriculum Overview

Electronics and Telecommunication have always been my first choice since I wanted to complete my Bachelor's degree in Core subjects. Fcrit offered the following course where the student ratio was 1:1 i.e. in the male: female ratio was almost equal in the following department. Also, the faculty was extremely approachable and always encouraged in all the activities. Also, the faculty opted for various techniques other than chalk and board to explain various concepts which helped during the term exams that were held every semester i.e., every 6 months.

Internships Opportunities

There are various internships that are available through the college. These internships offers are given regularly with a sufficient stipend. These offers range from technical jobs to non-technical jobs.

Placement Experience

The placement process of the department is very well explained to the students since the second year. The process generally starts in the 4th year however, some companies even offer jobs to the 3rd year students as well. The highest package received in my batch is 10L offered by the LTI company. Most of the eligible students have been placed in my batch. However, I had not opted for the placement process since I wish to opt for higher education after completing my B.E degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees are extremely suitable and they remained constant all the 4 years of the degree course. The placement activity is also extremely good where various kinds of jobs with various job profiles are offered.

Campus Life

There are two college festivals one of which is the Annual fest named FACES conducted around September and the Technical fest named ETAMAX is conducted during January. There are various social groups and clubs department-wise as well which I myself was a part of. These clubs have their own fests and activities. There has also been a Tedx event in the college and various Technical as well as non-technical competitions.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Bookworms are welcome, engineers are not

The eligibility was cet and jee marks based only. The last round cutoff for this college in mechanical was around 80%ile in mhtcet. But it was higher than 95%ile in comps for general. The admission process was easy just bring a cheque and fill up few forms and give documents and done. I had choosen many other colleges over this i even got accepted in mit wpu and talen admission but i am a local mumbai person and i woshed to stay here so i gave up that admission. I also didnt get admission in the crce bandra due to only a small difference in the cutoff. And i had no idea about the ACAP rounds. I understood about acap and tried taking admission in vesit chembur in robotics but idk i changed my mind and stayed in fcrit because i thought i dont like coding at all and thus staying in core mechanical would help me sustain my engineering life....Read More
