FCRIT - Know it All

The admission can be secured through both JEE and CET marks. This college was one of my top preferences as it has a reputation for its teaching and excellent learning opportunity. I got in on my CET marks and had a seat under the OPEN Ladies category. The minimum cut-off marks vary from year to year but they are neither too high or too low. You can expect cut-off marks almost as same as other prestigious colleges like VJTI, etc. The admission process was quite smooth. There was assistance at each point guiding through required documentation and what details and sets of mark sheets or forms are required. Also, all the counters were properly organized.

Mechanical Engineering, as we all refer to our college, gives a wide scope to choose a career in. One can opt for manufacturing, design, thermal, etc. fields through the understanding of this one program. The intake capacity became 120 during my admission year but there was no lack of teaching faculty or lab technicians. All the faculty members are highly qualified, some of them even have a Ph.D. and are easy to connect and contact in case of any doubts or even if you want to start a new initiative. Coming to exams, these are your constant companions. You will find an exam at almost every corner of your college life. Due to these constant exams, ace them becomes a walk in the garden. Also, it is one of the very very few colleges that conduct Prelims for all semesters.

Students need to fetch internships on their own. The college may provide technical learning programs which are in turn attached to an internship but these are paid. So it is mostly like you pay to the company so that you get that internship.

Students begin placement training officially from 6 Sem and they can sit for campus placements from Sem 7. The minimum requirement changes from company to company but an average 7 pointer is accepted with no live KTs for being eligible for placement along with other aptitude test scores. Being in the core field the package ranges from approx. 3 to 5.5 lakhs with a maximum reaching even up to 8 lakhs. Students also opt for higher studies in India and Overseas depending on their interests. Assistance is also provided for the same.

The fees are not entirely over the moon. And if you are from any caste other than OPEN, then you get extra concession in them. Financially weaker students and orphans are provided with assistance in their fees. During this pandemic, the college was generous to provide partial payment (installment) options for students so that they don't face a burden.

It is full of life for every person be it from technical POV or cultural. There are two fests held, one in the odd semester and one in even. FACES - the odd semester fest is for you if you are a sportsperson. Right from Kabaddi, Football, Basketball, Tug of War, Tri-Lathon to individual games like chess, badminton, sprint, swimming all are celebrated in the college due to its large campus, 2 full-size turf, and excellent sports complex. This fest also has certain cultural and fun events. It is basically an intro to college life for the first years. The winter semester fest - TECHMAX is as the name suggests a technical and cultural event. One can showcase their technical knowlegde in RC Cars, Robots, etc in this fest. Along with these, there are multiple programs organized by the dept. council and also student clubs like ISHRAE and SAE. Not to forget the various literary clubs, technical clubs, ARC, etc make your college life super fun.
