Remarks
I always wanted to apply for FCRIT as it was very near to my residence and also a college with goodwill. As the program is a Bachelor's degree in Engineering I had to go through the MHTCET CAP rounds for admission. I was allotted a seat in the IT department of this college in the second round as the cut offs were quite high. After confirming the seat allotted, we had to go to the college for confirming the admission. The entire admission procedure was very systematic.
Course Curriculum Overview
Computers and Technology have influenced our life to a very great extent and I was always very interested in this field, that's the reason I chose this field. The faculty to student ratio is 1:70. The professors of the IT department are highly educated with degrees such as MTech and PhD. The professors have always tried to make the curriculum better and student friendly. Be it offline or online methods of teaching, they have always made sure of completing the portion before time, giving us enough time for revising the portion and also exploring some more things related to the portion. There are even extra lectures allotted by the teachers so that we can clear our doubts in the allotted time daily. The term exams are conducted after every 6 months and two internal assessments each term. Our college also conducts assignment tests which makes it very easy for us to perform well in the IA's and end sem exams.
Placement Experience
The student becomes eligible for placements after their 7th semester. The training for the placements starts from the 5th semester itself. Many reputed companies like TCS, LTI do come to recruit the students. There is a portal provided by the placement cell which helps in keeping a track of all the companies which are visiting the college. Around 47 students were placed in the year 2020 from the IT department with a maximum CTC 7.00
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of this college lie approximately between 1 to 1.4 L per year for the general category. Fees can be paid in instalments. For special category students, there are scholarships that can reduce the tuition fees by a significant amount.
Campus Life
There are mainly two fests conducted in our college. The annual fest is FACES and the tech fest is ETAMAX. Tech fest is generally conducted during the first half of the year and the annual fest during the second half. Participation is compulsory in it so that students also participate in some extracurricular activities. Library mostly has access to all the books we need during the course. Access to online journals is also possible, using credentials provided by the college itself.
