Remarks

The admission process was similar to the ones we had after passing 10th std. For opting engineering mhcet(in Maharashtra) as well as jee is very important. Minimum 50% in a science field in 12th is a must. Admission rules are put before us when you apply.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculty in FCRIT Vashi is very supportive and helpful. They constantly encourage us and try to make us get used to the industry pressure. All the assignment tests and prelims before the end sem help a lot cause for the end sem we need to revise and focus on our weak subjects. All the dues and project deadlines help us to inculcate the value of punctuality and discipline. The teachers are highly knowledgeable and educated and provide us with great insights. All of them have an MSc and most of them have PhDs or are pursuing PhDs in their respective fields

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are fixed ie the amount you pay in the first year is the amount you will have to pay for the next 3 years. I had paid 1,33,000, ie for the general category. The campus placements are also good. The college has a good reputation in the industry and that gives us a better edge.

Campus Life

There are 2 fests. One in the even semester which is a technical fest called etamax and then there is another in the odd semester called as Faces it is the cultural fest. Participation is a must which makes us come out of our comfort zones. Classrooms are quite good and spacy. Library is pretty big .Its filled with books, reference books journals etc. There are many clubs that the college has like Csi (computer society of India) , ARC ( robotics club) , Coders club (cc) etc and like other colleges a student council. There is a departmental magazine and a college magazine. This college is pretty well known for its basketball team. It has a badminton court and pretty big football ground and a little clinic too .

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

Placement Experience:

Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Bookworms are welcome, engineers are not

The eligibility was cet and jee marks based only. The last round cutoff for this college in mechanical was around 80%ile in mhtcet. But it was higher than 95%ile in comps for general. The admission process was easy just bring a cheque and fill up few forms and give documents and done. I had choosen many other colleges over this i even got accepted in mit wpu and talen admission but i am a local mumbai person and i woshed to stay here so i gave up that admission. I also didnt get admission in the crce bandra due to only a small difference in the cutoff. And i had no idea about the ACAP rounds. I understood about acap and tried taking admission in vesit chembur in robotics but idk i changed my mind and stayed in fcrit because i thought i dont like coding at all and thus staying in core mechanical would help me sustain my engineering life....Read More
