Jordan's review of Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Institute of Technology

Colleges applied were Fr. Conceciao Rodrigues Institute of Technology, K.J. Somaiya, Ramrao Adik, etc. College was selected since it was my first preference and wanted to get into this college only. I availed the minority quota since I am Roman Catholic. The cutoff was above 90% and the minimum requirements were Science had to be taken 12th along with CET and JEE. The admission process was very smooth since all the staff and management helped and guided students and parents each step of the way. A complete comprehensive introduction along with a tour and the goals of the college was given in orientation after admission. The principal and the managing director welcomed the parents and students to the college after the orientation.

I choose IT Engineering because I enjoy coding and want to be an application developer. The faculty to student ratio is more than sufficient as there is a good number of staff who are well equipped with all required material. The faculty is all extremely well qualified and the teaching method is very good and deadlines are set for submissions causing a good habitual routine for students. The exams are placed with equal intervals between them and the tests are difficult forcing students to always be focused on their studies as well as the extracurricular activities.

The companies which offer internships are shell, carwale, citius Tech, Jio, LTI, TCS, Tata, Sterling and Wilson, Jacobs, Selec, LNT, Afcons, and many others. Each company gives its own tasks and projects to perform and all have their own benefits.

Students are eligible for placements after the 4th year. Many companies visit the campus for placement like a shell, LTI, TCS, Ingram, and many others. The packages depend on which company is making the offer. There were 1486 offers made for placement. After getting the degree, I would like to work for two years and the do my masters.

The fees are approximately 1 lakh 57 thousand rupees. You can apply for a scholarship at the beginning of every semester. The scholarship is an academic scholarship. I don't have a job at campus as i have just started my third year and there is in campus placements.

The campus is very good containing a canteen, library and many other educational activity rooms on campus. The library is completely stacked with each and every book and journal required for all courses in college. There is a projector in the classroom along with working fans and lights in all classrooms. There is a basketball court, football turf, sports complex, and a badminton court for college students. There are many clubs made by students and faculty like the robot club, Marathi Mandal club, drama club, and many more.

The process of admission had become online for our batch so we had to apply for 5,6 colleges of our choice. I applied for Fcrit as my choice and got it with the minority quota. I had to keep all documents regarding education and personal readiness and submit them along with copies in the college. A few forms were to be filled, after those were done, we were called in a few days and then an application for an identification card was given along with conformation of admission.
