Remarks

I was born and raised in Delhi. Delhi Technological University (DTU) is a prestigious school in terms of ranking and placement records in my own home city. I was unable to bag a seat in IIT delhi for thermal engineering branch (MTech), therefore next choice for me was DTU offering a specialised masters in thermal sciences.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

My branch was Thermal Engineering and there were several relevant compulsory courses like advanced thermodynamics, advanced fluid mechanics, Opimization Techniques. However, i would have loved more choices to pick courses. Courses like IC engines, power plant engineering were compulsory to study even though they were not relevant to my future research.

Placement Experience

4

DTU has a good placement record for BTech and MTech students, however preferences are given to undergraduate students. Companies start coming to the campus for hiring interns as early as in the second semester (MTech).

Fee Structure And Facilities

The only assistance available was through GATE stipend which is provided to every student form the government of India. Many companies came to campus for hiring interns during our final year of MTech.

Campus Life

4.5

Overall the campus is amazing with a significant amounts of clubs to chose from depending on your interest. Libray is well equiped with latest books on subjects as well books available to prepare for competitive exams like CAT, UPSC etc. Sports fest are conducted frequently in which students participate actively.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I didn't chose hostel. Hostel accomodation is not provided to local students. Due to shortages of rooms, preferences were given to students depending on their distance of hometown from delhi. However, new hostel campuses are under construction and soon we can enough accomodation for everyone.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are average, companies which come to visit are Deloitte, etc. but the highest package offered till now is 3 - 5 lakhs till now. 60 - 70% get placed by the college, otherwise you could always look out for better opportunities yourself and you can also learn new skills, like ai, digital marketing to enhance your cv which could help you get a better job

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose Bachelor of Management Studies because I want to go into Management side. There are approx. 100 students in a class. Qualification for opting for BMS is to secure 60 marks in maths in class 12 and overall 70 % in class 12. The faculties are excellent.

Remarks:

Sri Venkateswara College has a good ranking in terms of education. So, postgraduate course from this college can be worthy for students. B.Tech with 50% marks from recognized university is the academic criteria. Entrance test is done and merit list is prepared on the basis of entrance exam's score.

Remarks:

If you are going to Jamia Millia Islamia, do not expect any exposure. Once, graduated you'll get to know that you have now come out of the shell. Jamia is not just a University, it's sort of a state in itself. Also, the process of getting a provisional certificate or migration certificate is damn tedious. I've almost cried every day pleading them to dispatch my certificates as soon as possible. They work like sloths in the Controller of Examination branch. Apart from the negatives, you'll be blessed with amazing friends. The biggest Negative Remark - You can not score high like any other University. Do not compare your marks with DU students. Professors in Chemistry Department do not give more than 75%. If you are getting 70% in Jamia, it's equivalent to scoring 85% in DU with the same pressure and hard work.

Remarks:

Though college had a very bad infrastructure and also don't have any attractive accomodation but it has an extraordinary faculty with amazing knowledge and the main thing that is necessary for a student is not facilities but faculties. We go to college to gain some knowledge which can be only possible through a perfect professor that is provided by our college.

Remarks:

The work culture is very intense at TERI. It's needs to be a little eased out with a few number of subjects as we are studying 8 subjects in a single semester. Therefore it becomes very clogged up and intense by the end of the semester.
