Entrance Preview

I gave CEE exam which was conducted by the college. I got 320 rank. I opted for ECE branch as I was inclined towards electronics from childhood.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college follows semester system. First 2 semesters focused on generic engineering subjects, like mathematics, engineering drawing, mechanics, etc. Afterwards, the course structure was focused on analog and digital electronics. Important subjects included electrical machines, microelectronics, digital electronics, DSP, etc. The course was a bit old, but was updated in 2010 for future batches.

Internships Opportunities

The college provides internships. But stipend is rare. The overall experience is good as you get to work on very good projects.

Placement Experience

4.5

DTU offers very good placements & job opportunities. Almost all eligible candidates get placed. The pay is good in electronics industry. It ranges from 5 LPA to 15 LPA. Some of them are Brahmos, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Nvidia, Synopsys, ARM, etc.

College Events

4.5

A lot of fests are organised in DTU, ranging from technical to cultural to management level. The annual fest Engineering Fest is quite popular. Eminent artists are invited to perform at this cultural fest. Technical fests attract a lot of engineering students from across india.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is not sky-high. In my time, semester fees was around 20 thousand rupees. Hostel fee was also nominal. Now it has changed. Its advisable to contact the admin office for latest and accurate fee structure. Fee structure may also be found on the admission form booklet.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are definitely there. But administration will be best to tell the currently available ones. College does not provide loans, but there is SBI branch in college premises which offers easy student loans.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratio is good, although its very bad in mechanical engineering stream. Student parties and workshops are frequently organised. There are a lot of cultural and technical societies which one can join. Student diversity is good as people come from different parts of the country. There is no issue regarding tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status.

Alumni/Alumna

College alumnus are very helpful. They can be easily approached when in need of job recommendations, career guidance, company reviews. There are various facebook pages and websites to connect to alumni.

Exam Structure

Exams are held per semester. There are two types of tests, written and lab practicals. Exams are not that frequent and it wont feel hectic. Its mostly chilled out. You need to earn the minimum number of required credits to get a passing degree of engineering.

Admission

I gave CEE in 2009. It comprised of multiple choice questions. But the process has changed now, admission is though AIEEE nowadays. The result was declared after a month. Counselling took place in the college where branch was allotted and admission fees was paid.

Faculty

4

Faculty was qualified and interested to teach their subjects. They explain using practical examples. They help in labs. They encourage to work on very good projects. They also help in writing research papers which get published in reputed journals. They help in recommendations for higher studies.

There is a training and placement cell in nsut and yes placement is offered in our college. 1. After your 2nd year in btech, you are eligible for internship placement and after 3rd year your are eligible to sit in job placement. 2. There are many good companies that come to nsut, like zomato, meesho, Microsoft, google, azure, adobe, and list is really long. 3. The highest package this year was around 50LPA. The profiles are based on tech - software engineer, non tech - data analysis, core - electrical or mechanical or civil or chemical engineers in core companies like BSES, google silicon etc.

Placement Experience:

Here placement is average as many opt for higher studies the reason behind this is maybe because only a few companies visit. In which TCS is a mass recruiter. The average package here is 3-4 lakh per annum and the highest goes up to 6lakhs per annum. Here placement ratio is about 50%. I will also opt for higher studies after getting a degree

Remarks:

College management needs to work upon just the placement cell and needs to invent new methods to keep uninterested students glued and up for studies.
