Remarks

The admission process in Shyam Lal College( EVE), Delhi was not at all occupying. It was simple as I just registered online on the DU portal and reserved a seat for myself. The criteria were not much defined but the minimum of 65% of cut-off was required for the general category and as I have not availed quota so 65% was the minimum cut-off for me. The cut-offs of other reserved classes were about 50%. I had already applied to different colleges of Delhi University, like karodimal college but the course requirements were not as fulfilling as Shyam Lal. As I got to know that I was selected I went on for further procedures with submitting my documents like mark sheets and other required documents, as there was no counseling and that was entirely merit-based selection. The admission was confirmed with the finalization of the fee payment procedure, and I was all set to begin my journey in this exciting campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum and the faculty are without doubt the most accurate for what I have opted for myself. I choose this course as I belong to a humanities background and the B.A. program course is considered to be the right decision for my further career opportunities. Also, the Shyam Lal college provides the best B.A. program course among the colleges I have come across. The faculty and the teachers are the reason which makes this college worth. The teachers and staff are without doubt the most intelligent and knowledgable and highly qualified of this college. They are highly dedicated and passionate about their regularity and teaching methods. About 60 to 70 students are taught by 5 teachers with respect to their subjects. About the exams, they are held semester-wise, i.e. 2 semesters in a year, which makes a total of 6 semesters in 3 years which are not at all difficult to pass if the student is into hard work and follow-ups the teachers teaching method.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

As our college has made it compulsory for all the years of the students pursuing bachelors to have an internship certificate and the manual experience of how working in the real world feels. There is no such compulsion of the subject related to the internship but it is chosen as per the personal choices and fields. The campus itself provides small internships among students to gain a sense of experience and growth. The active student can also get themselves involved in various workshops held at the Delhi University. Having an internship in particular felid studying is not a hard and fast rule in the college. Students are promoted to be versatile and hence should have experience in their field of expertise.

Placement Experience

3.5

The eligibility for the appearance of campus recruitment starts as soon as you are in the 5th semester. Many companies such as ICICI Prudential, Dream group provides students with internship plus job opportunities. The jobs offered are not as much satisfaction as it is for the Postgrad students but for the betterment of an individual and to gain some experience in this field one can surely opt for it. About 20% of students who want to pursue the job get the offered placements. The company has offered about 20000 INR monthly as starting packages, for the starters and provides jobs in the fields like Marketing, Human Resource Management, Customer services, Sales, etc. As I am not yet interested in doing the job but more interested in my further studies so I would opt for my Maters i.e., Post-graduation, and then avail myself the jobs offered.

Fees and Financial Aid

Many reputed companies have visited the campus of the Shyam Lal College and offered a nice amount of package as in 20000 INR per month, if not the best. As an undergraduate student of B.A., i would say there are not many satisfactory jobs but one could give it a try for experiencing and exploring this era as well. As Delhi University is a government university and it is known for its affordability and for the best studying experience one could come across, so there is not a much problem with the fees structure. My course offers the fees of approx 11000 INR per year which makes it approx 33000 INR for the 3-year bachelor's degree of B.A. Program. Yes, several scholarships are available for the students to avail themselves.

Campus Life

4.5

The beautiful campus provided to us by Mr. Shyam Lal , the founder of the college, can't be thanked enough. The campus is big enough to explore, there is cleanliness all around making it more loving. The infrastructure is enormous and very accomodating with the right amount of all the amenities available like sports rooms, clean and hygienic canteen with all the more delicious food, huge playgrounds and huge and perfectly ventilated classrooms that everyone wants to sit in. A vast library with all the latest books and journal availability was something very attractive . There exists around 10000 washrooms all across the campus which are tremendously clean all the time. Many social fests are conducted like carnivals, workshops, basic quizzes for the students to explore . The social groups and websites are also running so that the student could reach out for any problems and queries.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of my college is very active. They hold internships round the year and provide reliable placement at the end of last year. Placement mainly depends upon per student skill rather than the course variability and considering most of the humanities courses are less employable if taken only on the basis of course. However skills are the main deciding factor
