Remarks

The admission process is the entrance exam-based. It is a combined entrance exam for all the branches of BA(Hons). You have to secure a very rank to get Geography as a branch but the serious competition only for economics.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I opted for BA(Hons), Geography because i want to get a government job and pursue my goal to become a civil servant. The faculty was very well qualified and generous. every time they motivate and support even financially to become IAS, PCS, and all. If you get enrolled, visit Prof.Jabir Hasan Sahab you will hardly get a person like him.

Internships Opportunities

1

Students do not get internships through campus. No company visit for placement or any activity in my academic life and no one got the internship from campus hiring in my batch. After completing of BA students hardly get employment. Because of degree courses are not in demand these days.

Placement Experience

1

BA(Hons) being a non-professional course student hardly gets an internship and job opportunities in the core field. But some of the companies visit campus just to recruit bachelor, Here students find some employment opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very minimal as we compare the quality of education and hostel facility. In first-year students have to pay just around10000 then 2nd and 3rd year only 6000 rupees. There are great opportunities to get scholarships like the UP Scholarship and Central scholarship and some of the Alumni also offer financial aid to needy and talented students to pursue their goals.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is full of adventure and exploring. AMU has a rich heritage that's made us feel Royal. and Maulana Azad Library is second Asia's largest university library with more than 2 million books. CSEC and DEBATE CLUB these two clubs are very helpful to learn communication, leadership, and organizing skills.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

To getting a Hostel you may face some hardship but once you get life is sorted. The guidance and patronage of seniors are invaluable and momentous in college life. The seniors and juniors come together and made the very rich culture of brotherhood.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course structure was well designed and updated with the ongoing preparations of government exams which helped me alot in my preparations as everywhere polity is something that is a mandatory one and hence the curriculum plus the overall teaching pattern the timing of exams and the level of difficulty was moderate if someone had attended all the classes, plus the marking scheme was a bit hard and other aspects like attendance was also included, however there's no such compulsion that one must attend the classes this was only applicable for sessionals

Amity University, Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)
Reviewed on Nov 15, 2024(Enrolled 2018)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity University is a well rounded blend of theortical principles and practical relevance that shaped my future career. There are modules like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics that provide a strong formation for any future career opportunities in economics or finance. Additionally the presence of specialise subject like health economics, developmental economics, international trade, public policy and behavioural economics very highly appealing and something you would not find in other universities or/and government university. The inclusion of such modules got my attention because it promised to go beyond traditional economic subjects and focusing on the practical subjects that are also industry specific level of domain of economics. They were also research projects, data analysis classes, case studies throughout the three year course which allows students to apply and test their knoweldge that further enhance the value of the degree. There were also subjects like environmental sciences, psychology, communicative English which was made mandatory for students that help them shape their personality and adapt more to a corporate setting. The examination system is designed to assess the viability of skills and critically but the difficulty of exam especially towards the end of semester can create unnecessary pressure for students. There will be time that there will be last minute syllabus changes or additional chapters to be considered and there is no structured format of what you can expect in the written exam however there is a fair grading system though some students feel that instead of the exams there can be more emphasis on analytical side rather than modules that require rote learning.

Event management seemed interesting but it's more work and less pay on every post The college did not provide any intenships or work so we had to do it on our own The college claims to give more practical learning and that's a lie they do not care about practical they just care about passing in the exams and attendance

Reviewed on Nov 5, 2024(Enrolled 2022)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the course can be divided into three parts as this is a 3-year course. Every year has 2 semesters and the course in total has 6. The first semester is usually spent on subjects like understanding psychology and other non related subjects like AI. The first-year curriculum could have been put to better use instead of teaching us nonrelated subjects as that cut off the rhythm that could have been building and when we came to 2nd year the first year looked like a complete waste. The 2nd year comparatively was better and more productive the curriculum rhythm was better and as we slid into 3rd year the curriculum became more productive and helpful.
