Remarks

The admission is done online, and once you're confirmed (according to merit list), you have to submit the documents in the college. There are a total of 4-5 merit lists. The minimum marks/cut-off (general category) required for BCOM this year was 91.3% (this was for the first merit list). For other categories, the cut-off was a little low.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The faculty at BMCC is amazing. They teach all the concepts very well. Apart from academic knowledge, they also focus on practical experience. Term exams are very competitive, in comparison with other colleges. Likewise, the college prepares you for the same. All the queries/doubts are cleared by teachers when required. Overall, the college stands very well at academic focus.

Internships Opportunities

4

We have a "placement cell" in our college that provides internship opportunities to students right from their first year of college. Our placement coordinator is very friendly and helpful, she guides us in applying for the internships. The roles offered under the internships are- Marketing & Sales Intern, Summer Intern, Finance Intern, Human Resources Intern, Graphic Designer, Video Editor, etc.

Placement Experience

4

Students are eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, i.e. approximately around January when they are in their last year of the degree. The average salary offered is around INR 300,000 per annum. Some of the recruiters are- Wipro, Deutsche Bank, Deloitte, Northern Trust Corporation, E&Y, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, etc. Our college provides placements to around 30-50% of students for BCom, as most of them don't look for a job and want to continue with their academic education, i.e. a master's degree. My plans after getting the degree- I definitely want to look out for a job, but that is not my main priority. I want to continue with my academic education before entering the professional field.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for all three years of BCOM is INR 9,750 per year. The college provides scholarship opportunities to students. One of the schemes is - Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students, provided by the Government. You have to apply for this through the college itself.

Campus Life

4.5

We have two annual fests, Astitva and Troika. Each one of them is unique in its own way. Astitva is conducted in the month of August (first term), and Troika is conducted in January (second term). The college has one of the best libraries in Maharashtra. Over 200,000 books, journals, magazines are available. The classroom provides digital facilities too. Apart from that, the computer lab has a lot of computers available for students to work on. Gymkhana is a place for sports. Basketball, football, cricket, volleyball are played in the college. Apart from this, you can also play other sports through college. The college has a lot of student-run clubs such as girls empowerment cell, entrepreneurship cell, English association, nature club, earn & learn club, etc. Students are able to socialize and make connections through them.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.
