Remarks

Firstly, I attempted NEET and was not on the merit list to get me to any Medical college. So finally I appeared in the entrance test of Skuast and fortunately got their selection. I was on a merit list and then I went to the main campus SKUAST Srinagar for counselling. They asked me to show my 10th and 12th marks card and finally alloted me a seat in BSc Agriculture.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose this course because of the value and need to agricultural scientists in our area as most of the people are involved in somehow agricultural processes. In our college faculty members are very good and they have good teaching experience. They are highly Qualified at the researcher level and have teaching experience of 5 to 10 years. We have two term exams annually viz, the Mid-term and End-term exams. Meanwhile, the difficulty is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

2

Many national and international companies provide internships to students of the college. Recently a company from Thailand offered internships to the students and provide them with good amounts of money. The main focus of the companies is to get them for research and scientific programs.

Placement Experience

2.5

The campus is given to students for MSC courses in skaust. The biggest problem here is that no companies or else visit here and we totally rely upon the govt jobs. About 60% of students get it to Govt offerer jobs and others get it to other fields. I think I will go for PhD and will do research in the future.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Fee for the said course Is Rs. 31,500. Recently we experienced a pretty good hike in annual tuition fees for which students are suffering a bit. We get only the scholarship from Minority affairs and no other scholarships from the college end.

Campus Life

5

We have I think the best infrastructure in our college. Hostel facilities are very good, have a WIFI, but lack of purified drinking water is a huge problem. Labs are well furnished, and classrooms are smart and well-developed. Medical facilities are poor. The library is huge and packed with many agricultural books, we have a vast playground and a serine scenery all around.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are ample but I think more hostel fee is levied on us. Rooms are big but and 3 students are accommodated in one room. We don't have a generator system so whenever electricity is gone we have no option then. The mess of our hostel is I think best and we get anything from there. Hostels are allotted to each student at the time of the registration process.

Interview Experience

4.5

Students here are kept busy with extracurricular activities and groups have been made and a group leader represents the whole group. Many seminars are held and we participate actively in these. Apart from these, we discuss the exam pattern and problems related to our studies.

Other Applied Colleges

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is actually preparing us how to become profitable in all the situations like during adverse weather conditions ,insect pest and diseases infestation, how to cope up with all the situations that can leads to decrease our yield.i personally choose this course to know the things that are happening in our daily life like knowing the reason of increase or decrease of income in agricultural fields ,use of pesticides, insecticides ,their quantity and specificity so that become less toxic to consume. The exams are quite easy but due to presence of alot of subjects no holiday is available during exams except Saturday and sunday

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always eager to study about plants and nature and when I studied about the SKUAST jammu i immediately appeared for the CET exam and scored the qualifying number for admission and chose the degree program of bsc hons horticulture and took the next step in my life to connect with plant world. This degree provides knowledge about agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, agrometrology and many more environmental and food related industries . This degree generates employment in various food sector like food processing industries , fruit cultivation , flower cultivation. And in my last year i have took the beekeeping as optional subjects which teaches about bee rearing and honey production. The difficulty level is moderate which a student if studies regularly can pass. The university should improve is education policy by including more practical work rather than theoretical work .
