Remarks

Entrance Preview

AIEEE, got AIR 5600. I chose Civil engineering as I was passionate about it & NITW Civil Engineering was considered best and I was not disappointed there.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course curriculum is very vast and informative for B.Tech. In NITW you will get exposure to research in your undergraduate program. All the faculties are involve in research and consultancy and they are much willing to impart their experience and knowledge to students.

Internships Opportunities

Students gets internship via many International Programs such as DAAD and Heritage. Many companies too provide summer internships.

5

You have best placements opportunities there. In placement NITW even beat some major IITs. Almost every day you have company visiting campus with more than 500 companies. Many NITWians opt for higher studies and start ups. Many of them leave job after getting placement to pursue their dreams.

In Springspree many celebrities come both from Bollywood and Tollywood. Management School and many other department conduct their individual fests. In NITW you will have 2-3 events every day involving guest lectures & events conducted by various clubs and associations.

Campus Life

5

Best thing about NITW is its campus life. Its closed campus institute with very few day-scholars. Its located near Hanmakonda and Warangal city with lots of Hotels, restaurants with mouth-watering Biryanis, theatres and shopping plaza (Asian Mall). Gender ratio is quite high in NITW and it depends on branch you opt. NITW has many international students from more then 30 countries, and their number change every year. It also has international hostel to accommodate various need of DASA and international students.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel and mess infrastructure is world class and best among any technical institutes in country. 1.8 k hostel (with 1800 capacity), 1k hostel (1000 students capacity) and International Hostel with 700 students capacity are its best hostels. Old hostels are also very good and have high quality urban interior. Mess food is mess food, its average. Though government messes provide delicious food.

Alumni/Alumna

NITW posses biggest alumni network among all NITS. Its has world wide network. Network has its own website nitwaa.in. The alumni association of the institute is very active with fifteen chapters in various cities of the country and international chapters in the USA, Middle East etc. The alumni of the institute can be found across the globe adorning very high positions in academics, industry, politics, administration, R&D, entrepreneurship etc. thus creating a global flavor and fragrance.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is quite hectic. You will have at least one set of exam every month, with two minors, mid exam and Finals in span of 4 month of semester. Minors consist of 10% each. with 30% marks for mid exam and 50% for finals. Its a deemed university so your faculty will only prepare your exam paper, decides dates for minors and you can see your evaluated answer sheet providing transparent system for examination. It has grading system, so your CGPA/SGPA will depend on relative performane with normal distribution.

Got it through AIEEE. You have to prepare hard to get into the college as competition is tough, and particularly NITW closing rank is highest among other NITS. Admissions for Foreign Nationals/ Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)/ Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) under Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) Scheme of MHRD Govt. of India for Under Graduate programmes in Engineering.

Faculty

5

In classroom you will never feel you are in old govt college with same old boring teaching methodology. Faculties are highly qualified and very much interactive. They always observe discipline in their conduct and impart the same to the atmosphere of classroom and campus. They encourage student to be innovative in their field. Research is main focus for faculties and some of them have published hundreds of international papers. Institute also provide consultancy service which help faculty to have on field real time problems exposure and can provide their expertise to mega projects.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
