Being an automobile enthusiast I wanted to do automobile engineering so I went to Durgapur abs college which is about 45km from my residence (Asansol). but the problem is from Asansol the connectivity is too poor and too costly so later I searched for best college with automobile subject then I got Surtech college and it had more than 4.5 rated so went the collage to visits the campus. After visiting the college I choose Surtech because in west Bengal very a smaller number of collages with automobile subject and this is one of a reason to choose the college. Another is Kolkata is best for living and connectivity is best in this state also cheap. I can easily access college without losing any time. The admission criteria were very basic and simple in Madhyamika total of 45% marks and PCM- 60% marks were needed so I had that. There were no particular age criteria so that was not a problem. Overall admission criteria, not a big deal. I took the admission in direct mode. Just I had to pay the admin.

I choose this course cause I was always an automotive enthusiast and wanted to join the automotive sector and know more about it. so as final I choose the automobile sector as my future. Surtech institute was the best option for me to attain my dream. The faculty members are really very qualified and they teach with very care. The faculty and student ratio is about 1:20. The exams are taken frequently. Slot tests are taken twice in a semester along with that class tests are also taken by respected professors.

The college provides various Internship Opportunities from INTERNSHALA along with that, we have registered ourselves in AICTE-TULIP Portal for other opportunities also. So, we have Internship Opportunities available at our Institute. This week, we will be applying for an Internship Drive with a Pune-based Design Company-ELECTION.

Being a private institute and the institute is located in a metropolitan city at dumdum fees amount best in class I have not to face any issue with the college. I like to say that JIS provides an internal scholarship of an amount of 60000 to the student who has studied diploma from Surtech. Besides that, there are many scholarships from the West Bengal government and some from a private institute. Like- Swami Vivekananda merit-cum-means scholarship, aikashree by west Bengal gov, oasis scholarship is also available to the reserved category.

The Annual Tech Fest, Manthan is conducted in the month of March and still even in this situation, the tech fest is being held in the virtual model. The annual cultural fest is conducted in the month of April, just after the tech fest. Presently, a lot of cultural activities are going on in the virtual model. Our college library is really spacious and a lot of books apart from the regular syllabus books are also available in the library. E-books have been provided to us for study purposes. JIS even conducted a book distribution ceremony in Covid-19 pandemic situation they provided library on wheels. All the annual social programs are broadly available on our campus with a huge playground with a gallery also available.
