I applied for a bachelor of vocational in (Retail and financial management) as I was interested to know how do companies work and what is in their backend, I got admission on a merit basis and I had no quota. Admission was on a merit basis in CBSE class 12 the commerce stream. The counseling at my time was offline and hassle-free.
Course Curriculum Overview
Student to faculty ratio in college is 16:1 and the professors are really cool and well qualified, Most of the professors are master's degree holders from reputed colleges all over India. Term exams are held twice a year and are moderately difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities
Most students apply for off-campus internships and mostly get hired in companies like Superdry and big bazaar. Some commerce students also get internships at banks like icici bank etc. major criteria for hiring as per my opinion is marks in semesters.
Placement Experience
As per placements are concerned the records are not too good but the number of companies that are visiting college is increasing every year, Like icici bank and Deloitte. The maximum package offered to the freshers is 4-5lacs and these are pretty well suited as per cost to study. Many students go for higher studies and many go for government exams. I am also planning to do mba after my college ends.
Fees and Financial Aid
there is no fee hike during my stay at college and before also no such fee hike was observed in the college and cost to study is 100000 for three years which is approximately similar to other less reputed colleges. The college also provides financial aids to some students from weak backgrounds,
Campus Life
Annually three to four fests occur in college in past years which see the footfall of a large number of students from Chandigarh as well as Tricity and the fests are filled with a plethora of fun activities. The college has good sports facilities and an air-conditioned library which has many books to read and few journals too. The timings for the library are fixed. The classrooms are well ventilated but not air-conditioned. Many socially active clubs are there in college like retract, enacts, etc which also conduct awareness drives.
