Remarks

I basically want to study in Kolkata or pune because these are developing city and cheaper also. So I applied for Goenka college of commerce in kolkata and symbiosis in pune but cut offs of these colleges are high and I was unable to fullfill it. So at last I got admission in brihan maharsatra college of commerce which is also stand at 2nd after symbiosis in pune.i am from general category so I didn't get any quota but there is quota system in this college mainly for maharsatra students.Admission in this college is totally merit basis and first cut off start around 94 percent and goes till 80 percent with 6-7 cut off lists . I got selected in 3th list . Minimum age required is 17 years. After taking admission counselling was conducted by our principal and vice principal and it was very beneficial for students and they introduced us with the college and also explained the credit system of the College

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I want to pursue C. A so best degree that suits is BCom only. BBA was also option for me but I preferred b.com. student teacher ration in our college is good and it is around 30:1 and all the teachers really make great efforts .Most of the teachers have completed their post graduation and some of them is still pursuing it.In our college there are 6 semesters in the span of three years .in one semsester there is 40 for internal marks and 60 for the external.due to covid times external is totally objective but usually it's subjetive only

Fees and Financial Aid

It is funded by the government so the fees are very cheap and it is affordable for all the students. For general students fees is around 18 thousand per annum but it falls to 9 thousand for special category students like schedule caste, schedule tribes .they also provide paid internships to students with good stipend like around 4000- 5000 per month. Placement is also great most of the students get placed in big 4s like KPMG, Deloitte, and investment banking companies also.

Campus Life

3.5

Due to covid, I have not went to college for a single day but I had heard lot about it from my seniors annual fest is conducted at our college named as 'Troika". Many students from others college also come on the event day and it makes it very competitive and fun to watch for the audience but not for the participants because it create a pressure on them .our Library is one of best in whole pune college . Our college also promote social activities and I am also part of Nss and it's a matter of pride for me. several activities are conducted in that like cleaning river sides ,roads acts to make people and many other welfare activities .

Other Applied Colleges

Symbiosis college of commerce | Bcom

It was my first priority but I was not able to meet selection criteria

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.
