Remarks

I had applied for MMK College of Commerce and Economics as well as for HR College of Commerce and Economics, I opted for MMK because according to the location it was well suited for me. The minimum percentage required was 75% in 12th grade. We had a proper system of admission along with proper guidelines, offline as well as online forms.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course BMS - Bachelors in Management Studies provided me with exposure to finance as well as Marketing. There was a different faculty for each subject so it was well balanced. All the faculty members are well educated and experienced as well, their teaching method gave us theoretical as well as practical knowledge. We had 6 semesters and each semester had 1 external exam and one internal exam, difficulty level was always moderate.

Internships Opportunities

1.5

Not many internship offers were given to us, most of the students got it through their own sources. Some unpaid internships were there for eg the YGBT organisation which is an NGO and gave us a marketing opportunity.

Placement Experience

3.5

From the 2nd year, the students start getting campus offers. Motilal Oswal is one major company that provides job placements, apart from that many other sales and marketing start-ups were there. The highest package offered last year was 5 lacs per annum and an average of 3 lacs per annum. 20% of the students get through these placements and grab the opportunity. I plan on continuing with my studies that are opting for MBA as well as enhancing my CV by doing internships.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since I reside in Mumbai, the only expense was the fees which were 19000/- per year. Toppers got scholarships and since it was a Covid situation very few campus jobs were offered. Not much financial assistance was provided. When online lectures started the fees was still the same which is actually not fair.

Campus Life

5

In the first year, we had our annual fest Lakshya which was an intercollegiate fest and we got the opportunity of becoming contingent leaders and members in the month of January. In the 2nd year, we had an enthusiasm for which we got to be in the top core i.e VP and president - February. We also had a finance and economics club for which we had a committee. The college library is well equipped and provides ebooks as well. Classrooms had proper chalkboards as well as a projector and A/C. We had a cricket team/football team and a basketball team. We participated in many events where we got the opportunity to dance, singing and fashion show.

Placement Experience:

Placement cell is quite good. Students are eligible for placement in their last semester of course. There are many great companies that come like JP MORGAN, EY, KPMG. Average package of the college is 5-6 lacs but there are high packages according to the skills of the student. I'd like to go for master's after BMS. Different kind of roles are there for students to apply according to their interests in all the fields like finance, marketing, HR, consulting. There is training provided by the college for placemens and there is personal training for individual company interviews if required by students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Honestly, the course alone can't prepare you for real world applications. It's important to learn some skills before getting into job market. The course is pretty theory based and doesn't have a practical approach. The only skill thing that college helps with is public speaking through presentations. The teaching methods are also very much traditional type. So it's better to learn some extra skills and get experience, that can help you get your ideal job.
