MBA journey at K J Somaiya Institute of Management

1. I applied for K J Somaiya Institute of Management and Welingkar, and K J Somaiya was my preferred college, hence when i got the offer letter for K J Somaiya I accepted it. 2. No, I didn't apply for any quota 3. The admission criteria for application, in case of minimum marks was 50% and above. 4. The admission process was smooth at first we filled the application form along with our competitive exam scores. When our application got selected we had to select our preferred date for GD-PI. After that, our merit ranks and waitlist numbers were announced, and offer letters were rolled out

1. I chose MBA - International Business in order to understand more about the VUCA world and to an international perspective on the subjects. 2. There's 1 faculty assigned for each subject, for a batch of 60 students 3. Most of the teachers have completed their PhD. and have previously worked in the relevant industries. Hence they are able to provide past examples and more insights about the particular subject 4. The 1st-trimester exam got a bit delayed due to the pandemic, after that all the exams were conducted on time. The papers were application and concept-based, hence, if a student has attended the lectures, he/she should be able to answer them.

139 companies visited our institute for summer internship, with varied roles for all the specializations. Apart from Summer Internship opportunities, we also received live projects opportunities throughout the year

Once the fourth trimester starts, companies start coming in for the final placements. 201 recruiters visited our campus for final placements. 98% of the batch got placed. I will be sitting for the final placements this year.

For our batch, the fees were hiked a bit, but when it comes to ROI, a student can recover the amount since good placement assistance is given by the institute. Apart from that, the college provides access to various databases, like Marketline, EMIS etc. which are actually useful for in-depth research. Yes, financial assistance/scholarship is provided to the students who need it. It comes under the 'Financial Aid'

The annual cultural fest of our institute is Melange, which happens in the month of February. Since our classes were conducted, we had access to an online library and other relevant databases, One can be a part of various clubs and committees in K J Somaiya

We had a basic GD-PI format. The GD topic was E-commerce Vs. Brick and Mortar stores. Apart from the GD-PI, the overall academic profile, competitve exam scores, co-curricular, extracurricular, and work experience (if any) is considered. I prepared by myself for these rounds
