Remarks
There are two ways to get admission into Amrita. One is by writing the AEEE exam, and another is through one's JEE score. Then students have to give the preference of their branch. The students are then allotted to the branch based on availability and rank in AEEE/JEE.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very compact with improvements being made constantly, with inputs from industry experts and passed out alumni. The student-faculty ratio is about 1:15. The topics are covered well in classes and exams test the critical understanding of the subject.
Internships Opportunities
I have not been to an internship yet, but as far as I know, students who do well in their internship get a pre-placement offer from companies like Microsoft. Guidance for students is always given from the CIR department and faculties of the CSE department.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements and internships from the 5th semester. Many well-known companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Cisco visit the campus and for the past few years, the highest package is around 50 lakh CTC.
Fees and Financial Aid
Based on one's rank, students get a scholarship of 50%, 75% and even 90%, which means an annual fee of 30,000. The only criteria for a student to continue getting the scholarship is that he must not have any arrear and must maintain a minimum CGPA.
Campus Life
The campus provides various opportunities for students to showcase their talents. The main Techfest that happens every year is Anokha which attracts a lot of participants from other colleges. There are many clubs in which students can get themself enrolled and explore the opportunities. Amrita also has a central library that has a collection of various books across different journals. The classrooms and labs have all the infrastructure that you would look for like internet connectivity, proper systems with software and labs are air-conditioned. Students can also borrow any sports equipment from the sports department and there is always something happening around the campus.
