Remarks
The admission is done via JEE Main marks. The college announces selected candidates, via lists in different rounds. On the day of counselling, one needs to carry all documents and get them verified. After this, everyone can go to their respective hostels.
Course Curriculum Overview
Term exams are fairly timely, depending on the situation. They are quite difficult to pass if one doesn't have a good grip on the concepts. The faculty are all PhDs and some of them are MTech, from esteemed colleges like IITs and NITs. The teaching methods are modern and we are shown videos and presentations, for the same. The students are encouraged to learn practically and we also have to study a certain topic and present on them.
Internships Opportunities
There are many companies that visit our campus for internships, like ITC, Mondelez, The Baker's Dozen, Mother Dairy, etc. The stipend can range from 7000-20000 for the internship, sometimes including accommodation.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are done in the final year. In the 7th semester, students have to go for a semester-long industrial training. Some students are offered pre-placement offers, and some sit for the placement process. The highest packages have gone upto 8 LPA-10 LPA, in quality/supply chain/management related roles. More than 10-15 companies visit, and almost all of the students get placed. I personally would like to go for higher studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The fees have been reduced from the current amount, as per UGC guidelines. Students don't need to buy books, as the campus is residential, and there is a huge library. Also, the students are provided with digital study material, which they can refer to. The campus calls upon various food-related companies, for both internship and placement. I am currently in 3rd year and would be interning with Cremica Industries Limited next semester.
Campus Life
There are various societies and clubs such as Geetanjali, literary society; Saarang, cultural society; Vyaktitva, personality development society; Alabhayam, technical society; Prakriti, environmental society; CED (centre of entrepreneurship development), Entrepreneurship Cell, Samarthya, sports society. Also, we have a website called Fortifygen, wherein students can submit their articles on food and management related topics. There is a nascent club, called Club 451, where we discuss various topics, books, etc. and group discussions are held every week.
Hostel Facilities
The college is residential, and all students have to stay in the hostels. Food is provided in the mess, and the food is of decent quality. There is separate accommodation for MBA students. At the time of admission, all students have to pay the hostel fees. For mess, there is a separate card, on which the charges are deducted.
