Entrance Preview

I got admission to the SGGSIE&T in 2010 through MHT-CET Exam conducted by Govt. of Maharashtra in which I scored 159 / 200. I wanted to get admission in one of the 5 autonomous colleges in Maharashtra at that time. Basically, I am from Nanded so I chose SGGS over other autonomous colleges. I wanted to get E&TC Branch which is top branch in SGGS but unfortunately because of my less marks I have to take second highest branch that is CSE.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

SGGS CSE course structure is one of the best in Maharashtra. As it is auonomous college, curriculum is decided by the faculties itself. Curriculum is based on the current market trends as well as basics of branch. in final year, you have option to choose elective subject from available subjects.

Internships Opportunities

SGGS provides internship to selected M.Tech as well as B.Tech students in reputed companies like TCS, Persistent.

Placement Experience

3.5

In 2014, around 200 students from different departments were placed in different companies like Coginizant, L&T Infotech, Persistent, Nvidia, Hella, Emerson etc. I got placed in L&T Infotech. Highest package given by any company is around 6 Lakhs per annum.

College Events

3.5

National level Technical Event - Pragyaa which is conducted in month of March every year. Cultural Event - Utsav which is conducted in month of March every year. Also, Many robotics or other workshps happens every month or 2 months. Many departmental events occur every month.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is feasible not expensive as compared to other private colleges. SGGS provides best facilities in least fees. It is cent-percent autonomous government institute. Hostel fees is also very feasible. College is funded by government so the fees is very less.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is one scholarship for Economically Backward but extra-ordinary students which is funded by Alumina of college.

Campus Life

4

Very good gender ratio near to 1:1. Ragging is strictly prohibited. Lots of workshops. Much scope for Extra-curricular activities. As it is govt institute, doesn't have impact of political leaders. No racism. Nanded the city where sggs established is also very good city. Overall infrastructure of college is very good. Bus facility for Nanded students.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels are very good. New boys and girls hostel constructed recently. Almost all outstation girls get accommodated in hostel but limited seats for boys. There are many PGs nearby college which are very cheap. They may cost upto 2-3K per month for 2/3 sharing people. Hostels are having 2/3 sharing rooms.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumna students are very helpful They provide funding for college development and poor students. Every year in December Alumni meet happen. Alumna gather to that meeting in large number even though they are very far.

Exam Structure

SGGS follows semester pattern. Each year is having 2 semester. In Each semester there are two exams, Mid term of 30 Marks and End Term of 70 Marks. You need to score total 40 Marks to pass from these two exams. Also, grades are calculated from given marks. SGGS follows CGPA gradind system which is out of 10. A+ is highest grade while F is lowest score which means fail. There is summer term exam after both semesters to clear the backlog subjects from both semesters.

Admission

I got admitted in 2010. At that time admission process of autonomous colleges was getting conducted differently. You have to fill separate CAP form for this. Then Eligible candidates had to go through counseling at COEP Pune. Admission will be given based on the Merit Number and available seats.

Faculty

4

SGGS is having 52 Ph.D faculties which is most in any non-IIT college in country. Also M.Tech is necessary qualification for other faculties which are temporary. All faculties are very talented. Senior faculties having more than 25 years of experience. All lab assistants very experienced.
