Remarks
I did not apply for any other college. There were no admission criteria at CGC although some say you need to have 75% in 12th class that's not really an issue. The admission process was very good, we were treated very nicely by the counselors. First, they took all the children and their parents to the auditorium and showed us a presentation about the achievements of the college and how it has a record of 100% placement.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because programming languages fascinate me. I don't know exactly about the faculty: student ratio but each class had a class counselor assigned to it. The teaching method was decent, wasn't very good wasn't very bad and all over teachers were at least graduates. Every 6th month there were semester exams and between these 6 months, mid sem exams were held twice. Mid sem were easy but semester exams were really tough and so was the checking.
Internships Opportunities
Internships were provided by the companies themselves to those students to whom the company had selected for working with them. The stipend was decided by the companies, and the college had no role in it.
Placement Experience
Students of the 7th semester were eligible for placements. There were a lot of companies, Google, Amazon, that took 1 or 2 students each, and most of the students were taken in by mass recruiting companies. The year I joined, the average package was 5-6 lakh per annum and highest was 28 lakh per annum. The college claims that it has 100% placement but I don't know if that's true. My plans are to start my own company after getting the degree
Fees and Financial Aid
Although there was no fee hike in semester fees, there was a 5000 rs hike in the yearly hostel fees, and every 6 months they made us pay an exam fee of around 1000 rs. There was no campus job for students, no financial assistance, although there were different scholarships, I wasn't eligible for them so I don't know the criteria
Campus Life
There were many fests but the main was parivartan which was conducted in November every year. Books and journals were fairly available in the library. The classroom amenities were decent. Extracurricular activities were held at the starting of each year, sports competitions were held. There were a number of clubs which were run by students, each group had their own tasks
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities were not very good. Rooms had chairs, shelf, water cooler, tubelight, almirah. The menu had everything a student needs to survive but the meal quality was really really bad and no one took care of our complaints. Other problem was that even at a little inconvenience by a student, the wardens told them to bring their parents to the hostel without considering how far the hometown of the student is. The fees was 90000 a year which a 5000 hike per year
