Remarks
Due to my fathers job posting in Chennai, we had to move here and I didn't want to live away from my family, so I started looking for institutes in Chennai where I could pursue my B.Tech program, so I shortlisted a few and applied to them and was lucky enough to get into this one. Before getting accepted, I had give an online entrance test, HITSEEE which I barely qualified. As for the application form, I had to pay fill it properly and send the same back with a DD for Rs.1200.
Course Curriculum Overview
With ample facilities in terms of software and hardware, I had the opportunity to learn by doing. The curriculum prepared me to cater to the needs of the industrial organization. Through the program. I was able to apply a design thinking approach to solve the social and industrial problems. Our faculty here were highly qualified and experienced practitioners. Frankly I have mixed feelings with some faculties being really awesome, others average. But overall, they were good.
Placement Experience
I will start talking about the placement by mentioning that I got placed in Infosys with a decent package of 15 lakhs, definitely a great investment! The institution helped a lot through training sessions to brush our leadership & communication skills that made me perfect enough in cracking the interviews. The placement rate was great here, as most of my batchmates got placement even before the completion of the program. The companies that came to our campus for recruitment include TCS, IBM, Jaro Education, Infosys, Newgen Software, IDBI, Zoho, Qspiders, HCL, Ernst & Young, and etc. With more than 450 offers, the highest package that was offered was 36 lakhs
Fee Structure And Facilities
For my 4 year B.Tech program, I was required to pay an amount of 8.3 lakhs in 4 yearly installments, this amount included my total tuition fees along with the other fees. I couldn't afford the fees, so I opted for an education loan through a government bank.
Campus Life
My life at Hindustan were one of the best years I would say. Campus is big and looks good with clean and green environment. NSS, NCC and other small clubs used to take care of cleanliness and discipline inside the campus, I was a part of such clubs too and through this I was able to discipline. The infrastructure facilities here included Equipment and courts for Outdoor and Indoor Games, Hi-Tech Labs, Transportation facilities for localities, Bank/ ATM, Seminar Halls, Vehicles Section, etc. Other than this, a lot of cultural events used to take place throughout the year, the events here were not very big or popular but they were very engaging and provided a lot of exposure to us. Post college we had several options to participate in activities like Football, cricket, GYM, etc and we often went out for dinner with friends as we find many restaurants nearby.
