Remarks

Good: Amazing Campus. The doctors and teaching staff is very dedicated and take teaching seriously. The hostels are relatively clean and there is absolutely no ragging. Bad: Water issue. Water is only provided during summers from 6-9 am and 6-9 pm . The food in the mess isn't too great either. Admission Process: We had to apply on the KEA website. They call us for councelling in Malleshwaram. From there, after document verification, they will let us choose colleges according to preference. After the last date, the allotment is posted on the website. Why did I choose this: Because this college is one of the best Medical Colleges in India.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I chose MBBS because I always loved biology and always wanted to make a difference. FACULTY: They are very dedicated, they are patient, and even with 150 students and the current covid situation, they make it a point to take class and schedule it online/offline. Term exams: Taken very seriously here. If you don't study, you will easily fail. They are standard and similar to the university question papers.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship is compulsory. it is in the same hospital itself. We are posted in all departments in this one year so we get exposure of every department. We can also opt for some postings(like radiology, or dermatology) according to your preference. It gives you an idea about which specialization you might want to take your PG in.

Placement Experience

5

St. John's Medical College is an extremely reputed college. We have a compulsory rural bond where we are all given rural centres to work for, so for the first two years, you have a guaranteed job. After that, if you complete the bond, you have reservation in the college for your PG. PG stipend is about 40,000 per month.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure: About 5,00,000-5,50,000Scholarships: In campus, for the very poor, there are alumni scholarships that can be availed. MBBS had a compulsory rotatory internship with Rs 10,000 per month salary. Everyone has to do it after completion of their course and that itself is a major plus in the degree for exposure and learning.

Campus Life

4.5

We have an annual fest every year called AUTUMN MUSE. Teams: We have sports and arts teams. Major sports include: Basketball, Hockey, Cricket, Volleyball. Major arts: Dance and Music team. Library: Is very vast. Almost all books are here. It is air conditioned. Clubs: Current club actively working is the Health Club. The rest of the club's(Dance, music, etc,) are kept on hold due to Covid.

Admission

NEET was the sole exam. Preparation for meet started in 11th standard where I went for coaching, in Kerala. the institution was called Brilliant, Pala. They are very entrance orientated, I would say keep solving previous NEET papers and it's easy to crack.
