Remarks
Since this college is near to my house so I do not have to pay extra money of hostel and also security is also there. I took admission through direct seat on basis of JEE Mains marks, although they give admission through UPSEE exam but I did not appeared in it, this exam is held around April each year. I took direct admission in July. My city, Allahabad has many engineering colleges but UCER is best when it comes to private engineering college with better teaching and job opportunities. I went through getmyuni and career360 articles and reviews also as the college is in my city so I already knew a lot about it.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Computer Science because I was fascinated towards programming as I selected C++ in my 10+2 subject also I feel more comfortable in Computer Science Engineering rather than other branches. Also the placement is happening mostly for CS/IT therefore I choose Computer Science. In UCER, Faculty student ratio is 1:20 but you will get immense amount of time if you really want to ask questions from the teacher as very less students are serious about studies here. A lot of faculty members are PhD and many others are pursuing PhD in mean time, also they hold good command over their subjects except few. If you are here to study you will learn a lot. Teaching is interactive but still the syllabus hasn't changed since time so a lot of subjects appear laggy and dull. But the Library here is extremely rich so you will get almost every important book. The exams occur a lot faster and in regular amount of time and if you are genuine in studies you will get good grades but you should focus on skills rather than grades. A lot of people here hold cgpa of over 9+.
Internships Opportunities
I am in 6th semester currently but I did got an off campus internship after my second year semester break, a lot of students get off campus and in campus internship opportunities. Also college provided yearly in-house internship cum training facilities in Programming, Machine Learning, CAD CAM etc.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible to appear in campus placements from 7th semester but if you will try off campus internships you may get if you hold enough skills to cross the line. A lot of companies come to offer job around 50-60 or more companies come however the pay range is not great but still if you want to get placed and make a career you may choose to join and work harder afterwards. Salary ranges between 3,00,000 to 10,00,000 for the role of Software Engineering, System Engineering and also in Marketing roles, also few students get placed in better product based companies as per their capabilities but most of them get placed in MNCs like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Manhindra etc but some get placed in Amazon, etc. If a student is sincere and is from CS/IT branch then he will get placed in around 3-4 companies and others get 1-2 as per their skills. Other branches have to show programming skills in order to get placed in these technical MNCs. In CS/IT more than 75% students who opt for placement are placed. In Electronics 50% get placed while in other branches 30-40% get placed. Placement is very low for Civil branch.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is moderate in comparison to colleges in NCR region but placement is exactly similar to those colleges therefore it is better to study in this college if you are from Allahabad or nearby because the fee is less and also the expenses are less here. The college is on the outskirts of city so you will not waste your time and indulge in productive works. If you score rank under 10000 in UPSEE or if you have more than 85% in 12th then you will get scholarship. Also if you hold good rank in UPSEE you may get admission in fee waiver then your fee will come down to 37500 only per year. Also UP Government fee refund scholarship is there for anyone with less income, General students get 50000 and OBC gets 56600, SC gets more but I am not sure the exact amount. Hostelers get more scholarship money. If you are from CS/IT and you are sincere with your career then you will get placed in MNCs which is not bad as the number of jobs are decreasing and even if you study from big colleges then also same companies will hire you here you can save a lot of money with good placement. Electronics and Electrical also gets many opportunities but less placement ratio in comparison to CS but you should be sound in programming, OOPS, Data Structure and Algorithms along with Aptitude.
Campus Life
Campus Life is good for people who want to make friends and enjoy however I personally try to limit my circle but still lot of competition and fests will happen throughout the year. Enigma is the annual techno-cultural fest where there are lot of competition to participate in and some celebrity is called each year to perform in celebrity DJ night. Apart from this every branch organized their technical fest each year so 7 branches make 7 more competition pool. Apart from this Backstage Quizzing is organised twice a year where more than 500 students participate but it tough competition. Other student clubs are there for drones, aviation, drama, dance, singing, programming etc. If you want to enjoy your engineering there are a lot of opportunities.
Admission
As I went through direct admission so I had to undergo a written test based in the syllabus of JEE and if one clears this test then they will undergo a Personal Interview. After both these steps you will be given a branch of speciality as per your performance. They usually do not entertain change in branch allotted but you can request, it is all on your test.
