Remarks
It has an impeccable service overall. It has wonderful lab facilities and is a world class University. The problem is that being a private institution it doesnot have any student lobby to address any grievances. The admission procedure is through KIITEE which takes place every year in November. The reason of preferring this over others is its world class facilities and it was even near to my native place.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I had lots of interest in Genetic engineering from my +2s and it gave me an opportunity to even do my masters all along in shorter time period. The faculty : student ratio for our department is absolutely perfect. Each and every faculty is pHD holder and doing research which helps us in the lab as well. The exams are in strict timings and if one does proper planning and studies smartly its not so hard to score good marks.
Internships Opportunities
There is always a major internship in the final year for 6 months and its fun to work on the projects. Mainly its the dissertation program and a thesis needs to be submitted. The companies coming for internships are Britannia, nestle, gsk pharma, etc and thd minimum stipend is of 12,000 per month.
Placement Experience
In case of my course (5 years) students are eligible for campus placements from 9th semester. The companies that visit here are gsk pharma, virchow, nestle, Britannia, etc. The highest packages are for sales department and can go upto 10-12 lacs while average package is 4-6 lacs. My plan after getting the degree is to pursue phd in the subject.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There is no fee hike policy. Once you get admitted it will stay the same for rest of the course. Scholarships are there for the batch toppers and one can also avail financial assistance by taking education loans. The campus placement is also very nice with minimal stipend for training period of 12,000 and once you get the job you are paid much better.
Campus Life
Life in campus is like heaven for boys. For girls there are some strict rules like in time and all. But for boys after 1st year its like a dream campus. Library facility is excellent with proper books, furnitures and Air Conditioner to keep the mind cool. The classrooms are facilitated with projectors, ACs and its quite great facility. Sports complex and Gyms are having extraordinary facilities in very minimal expenditure. There are social groups and clubs for singing, dancing, acting, fashion, literature, photography, etc in the University as well as in the respective departments and its fun to be a part of them.
Admission
There was written test KIITEE for the admission and then the selected students are directly called for counselling and admission purpose. If someone prepares for NEET or JEE its quite similar and one can crack this exam as well.
