Remarks

After scoring 86 percentile in MAT, I applied to various colleges one of them being Birla Global University. Eligibility criteria don't count here. they will call you and take all the details and ask for registration and after registration, they will charge around Rs.1500 as registration fees. All the application forms and dates are available on their websites as well as they will mail you if interested. They will schedule a GD/PI round. As I had applied before Covid, fortunately, got a chance to visit the campus and around 100 students were present over there. First-round was about filling out applications and writing a few lines about a given topic. Within a stipulated time, you have to write on the topic. The next round was GD. 2 Sets of students were divided and we need to discuss the given topic. The final round was PI. They will focus on why MBA? what are the subjects you like? and why BGU. Within a week or two they will call and declare the results. The admission process was smooth.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

MBA is nowadays very essential and without a proper degree, you cant pursue your dreams. In Birla, the curriculum binds you to be a better leader each day. It gives practical exposure to students which is not possible anywhere else. During covid also the management team didn't give up and managed to embed as much as possible. The faculty here are well qualified. Some of them are from ExIITS and IIMs. Faculty-student ratio is around 10:1. 1 faculty can look after 10 students. The faculty tried all possible and entertaining ways to make us understand the concepts with various assignments and presentations. Videos, audios, ppt, pdf, and many more materials were provided and also looked at individual performances of students and took proper care. They don't support partiality among students and tests were held in a timely. Exam paper based on a theoretical and practical understanding of a student. case study-based questions were practiced and if a student knows the concept well can pass easily.

Placement Experience

5

After the summer internship. The college started giving campus placement training and during the month of September, students got placement already. Companies like TATA AIG, Collegedunia, Federal Bank, Delloite, ADP, TCI, SIS, HDFC AMC. IDFC BANK. Practo, ADVARISK, AXIS BANK. Property pistol came and took a maximum of students. The highest package was offered by international companies like property pistol with 22 lac CTC and average being 5lacs. Mostly the profile was on sales and marketing. only a few fintech companies could recruit students. Till now around 96% of students are placed in different domains and already started working. I am fortunate enough to get placed in the FEDERAL bank with 10lac CTC and as a fresher joining such a big company will be extremely grateful to the college and its placement team. They personally look after students drawback by the feedback they get from the recruitment teams and suggest where to improve and give a number of opportunities to seat for the company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure was around 8.5 lacs but during covid, they had given concession around 50k. Return from investment is fine for students, as it is providing placement to cover all the fees. There is no such fee hike policy during our course time but we need not pay half of the hostel fees as we were the covid batch. Scholarships were provided to merit students who scored above 60% in 10th,12th, graduation and in CAT percentile were given 15% cutoff in fees from course fees and 60% in 10th,12th, graduation and in MAT/XAT, etc percentile was given 10% cut off in fees from course fees. College also provided internships with stipends from Airtel, ITC, etc. Campus placement was highest this year at 22 lacs and an average of 5 lacs. 100% placement is being guaranteed and as of now, 96% are placed with good CTC. I am placed in Federal Bank with 10lacs CTC. I am thankful to the placement coordinator for that.

Campus Life

5

We hardly got a chance to stay on the campus but I stayed for at least 3 months only. Life during covid was hopeless on the campus. rarely any event or fest used to take place but after covid, the campus became vibrant and we actually got to know the real campus. Hostel facilities are one of the best in the whole of Bhubaneswar. A mess which provides you food for 4 times and a library with all sorts of books you need according to your specialization and also provides magazines, journals, and newspapers to students. BGU has its own smart classrooms with unique designs and all amenities for students to be comfortable. Extracurricular activities on the campus used to be every day. because in the university varieties of schools have various programs and students can participate in the innumerable competition. Clubs start from mess to cultural according to students' interests and hobbies one can be a part of. Various intercollege competitions are being held and all because of the support of our Dean and VC s.

Hostel Facilities

5

One of the best things about BGU is our hostel. Two separate hostels for boys and girls. and students can share a room with one or two students. Each room has its own bathroom, unlike other institutions. The hostels have lift facilities,ac, and geyser. They used to maintain cleanliness on daily basis and clean and cold water for drinking. Coming to mess, they provide 4 meals a day with innumerable choices. Breakfast, Lunch, Tiffin, and Dinner. They have this huge mess where 1000 students can seat and enjoy their meal with toilets and clean water. They maintain the mess atleast thrice a day and the taste and quality of food are never compromised. For the hostel process, you need not register anywhere. simply call the warden and confirm your stay. Fees for a hostel are very affordable and reasonable. Within 12,300rs per month, you get a clean sanitized room with bed and wardrobe, electricity, gym and mess for 4 times meal. For MBA students hostel is compulsory. The warden for the girls' hostel is very friendly.

Interview Experience

5

Gd topic was why MBA? and we took atleast 15min to discuss and each member was given an equal chance to speak and conclude. Next in the interview round, they asked me why MBA after m.com, what were the subjects you were interested in. Why Birla why not other institutions, Some of the recent news current topics. And o you know excel or not? i went through all the GD topics available online as well as Interview rounds. Have a clear idea of what is required from a candidate and prepare accordingly. Faculty were friendly and were talking to you normally. They will be calming you down during whole interview process and will be looking at your communication styles mostly. If you are an average student they will recommen what else to do to clear the round and provide all sorts of support. Whole process will take around 5-6hrs. They will provide food and other facilities too. Whole admission team will stand for you incase if you need help.Interview will be moderately difficult for few.
