Remarks

I got a 26k rank in KCET, and through Counselling, I got PRESIDENCY UNIVERSITY, BANGALORE under the general category. The reason I gave this university in my option entry is this university provided specialisation batches with data science. Soon after the first round allotment, I had to pay the tuition fee of 62k (GENERAL CATEGORY) to the government through the bank and I had to report to the University with all my original documents to complete the admission process within 3 or 4 days of allotment. There the college fee was 35k but in the year 2020, due to covid, they collected 25k as my college fee. KCET rank cutoffs are depending on the course we opt for.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Since I had an interest in Computer Science, I had taken cs in my PU also. In programming, I would love python and that's why I took Data science. In presidency University, faculties are very good than expected. Most of them are PhD holders where they have so much knowledge. Due to covid, though our admissions were done so late, they completed portions at the perfect time with lots of effort. They took those portions so interesting by giving us quizzes, discussions and many more frequently. The term exams were completely knowledge-based like practical learning is prioritised in this university which is needed for an Engineer.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Now I'm at the beginning of the 2nd semester. Though it's online, they're still providing many updates and information regarding internships. Even a few days ago, we had webinars regarding the roadmap for internships and placements. Even lectures are giving us updates on our daily classes and also we can ask queries anytime to any one of the faculties. They're so good.

Placement Experience

4.5

There are good placements at Presidency University. But more than that, we'll have lots of opportunities to go abroad for higher studies. Since I'm still in my first year I have just heard about people speaking about placements, companies recruiting and many more but I personally haven't experienced it. So I dont think so that I'll be right speaking about this without complete knowledge. My experience in college so far, made me never think of off placements. I hope I'll be placed well.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees which we pay for the government depends on caste that is for general and OBC it is 62,573/- whereas for SC/ST it is 500/- only. But the college fee which we pay in the college/University differs. Compared to other colleges as my friends told me, this university fee was comparatively less. Also, they provided a discount of 10k due to covid. And all the scholarship like NSP, SSP and many more, the college faculty gave us updated through e-mails. As I'm still in my first year, I haven't placed still.

Campus Life

5

In between this covid, we hardly had offline classes. In those days, there were auditions for fresher's day and fresher's day. This occasion was taken care of so good and was organised so well keeping the current situation in mind. Numerous students got a chance to expose their talent on stage. Coming to the amenities of the classroom, they're the best. They're kept soo clean and tidy. And all the seats are placed at some distance where we get the perfect study Atmosphere. Also, I have to tell you this, I never expected this in engineering life is sports. But in this university, there's a huge ground where you'll have volleyball, throwball, basketball courts and we can play cricket also. That's so much fun. Since now it is online, we haven't experienced that social groups in real. Though it's online they create many groups. We'll be getting updates from the clubs, we're so much excited for offline classes.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, I do live in a girl's hostel now. This is an exact Bangalore City Life as hostels are nothing but a part of an apartment. We live in a 3 BHK apartment where each there's an option for selecting the no. Of girls in a room and the fee depends on that. For example, 3 girls in a room- 1.2 lakh per year. You'll have wifi facilities, which you can't depend on all the time. The variety in the food menu is the best. We have many items, like chapati, coloured rice, white rice, 2/3 types of side dish, curd and many more. Even the quality of food is very good. The registration process for a hostel is not that complicated. It hardly takes 30-60 mins depending on the students waiting. There's a PG very near to the college for girls. But the hostel is almost 2 kms away from the campus but there are bus facilities in the morning and in the evening.

Students in my college have a very good amount of campus placements where students become eligible from the final year 7th semester however the placement cell starts training from the 1st year means 1st semester itself like training for aptitude test, coding and mock interviews. Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”
