Remarks

- I haven't applied to any other colleges. - There wasn't any special process for availing the quota. When you were filling the NCHMJEE exam form you have to select your category, It is important to have a valid caste certificate. - the admission process starts with the NCHMJEE Exam after the 12th you are eligible for applying for the exam. Age 17-25. A college admission will depend on your NCHM rank. - After the exam, you will be selected based on rank, there is a cutoff for every IHM college and in online counseling, they will ask you to fill a preferences form on the basis of this and your rank, you will be allotted for college then you have to pay the half amount of your 1st-semester fees for saving your seat then you will have a document verification process in your nearby IHM. After all this, you'll get admission and you have to go to the college and submit all the necessary documents and the rest of the 1st-semester fees.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I've chosen IHM because I was interested in a professional course. There is enough faculty for the students. The faculty is really good and that is one of the reasons I like IHM Bangalore. They are interactive, strict, and very helpful. In IHM Bangalore every teacher is very qualified in their fields and some of the teacher's teaching method was promising. Every 5 months there will be a term exam and in between them, the midterm will take place. In my opinion, with the help of proper teaching and guidance, it is not that difficult to pass an exam.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship will give you the proper exposure to the industry. How this industry work, you will get an answer in the internship. Different hotel companies offer internship opportunities to students. Marriott, ITC, Taj, etc. The stipend totally depends on the hotel. In training, you have to work really hard and quite long but if you are willing to learn the work will pay off. You will get good knowledge and experience from the internship. If you work really good companies will also provide you a letter of appreciation. As a trainee you have to do all kinds of work like serving, cleaning, guest handling, bed making, bathroom cleaning, plates and glass wiping, napkin folding, handling a bar counter, making cocktail and mocktail, etc.

Placement Experience

4

From the 5 semesters, you are eligible for campus placement. This year the placement was not good enough because of the Covid-19 but otherwise many companies like Accor, ITC, bata, Starbucks, etc visits for the campus selection. The average monthly income will be 12000-15000 and the highest income will be 20000-30000. Mostly the management trainee will get the highest income. 65% of the students will get a placement and some others will change their industry. To achieve a high position in a reputed company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for the first year will be a little high but for the second year, the college fees are moderate, and for the 3rd year the fees are a little bit high. 1st year - 105000 2nd year - 90000 3rd year - 112900 Excludes hostel fee. Yes, scholarship is provided to SC/ST category by the government.

Campus Life

3

Infrastructure is good but not that fascinating. There will be functions like annual events, in march, ethnic day in March, etc. All the necessary and informative books are there in the college library. The proper seating arrangement is there and the projectors for smart class. Sports day will be there and for extracurricular activity, there will be some kind of competition related to four major departments and cultural activities are also will be there. There are four clubs each club related to one of the major hotel departments. Faces for the front office. Gharaunda for housekeeping. Bistromer for food and beverage. And gourmet for food production.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The girl's hostel is good and the facilities are enough. Three persons sharing a room in which 3 beds, 3 wardrobes, 3 fans, 3 study tables with a drawer and a mirror will be provided. In some rooms, there are balconies also. The meal and menu will be mostly south Indian and the food is not good enough. At the time of admission, they ask for a hostel facility then they will assign the hostel based on rank and quota. The hostel fee is reasonable and for the first year, they provide a bus service to the girls only. The locality for a room or PG would be Indiranagar.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement comes to the college in the middle of the fifth semester and students are eligible to apply for the companies visiting. There are several companies of Hospitality as well as retail-like Aditya Birla Fashion Group, Absolute barbecue, Starbucks, Marriott International, The Leela , The Oberoi and the companies offer as per their requirements. In my college, there was 100% placement pre-covid. The college is trying to bring as many companies as possible for placements even in this pandemic and students are still being paced with the reasonable package.
