One of the Best Ihm in India(but don't get high hopes for the Campus)

For getting Admission to IHM Bangalore, you have to give NCHMCT-JEE Exam and you'll get admission in different Ihm Colleges according to your All India Rank.Ihm Pusa and Ihm Mumbai only take Admission till 600 AIR(General Category. The Results for NCHMCT come in three-round. You'll get Admission in IHM BENGALURU in 700-1200 AIR as per the previous cut-off list, till the last round that's called as Spot Round(The Rank I have mentioned here is for General Category )It has only 250 seat apx.I am a General Category and I Got 1204 Air so I have to wait for Ihm Bengaluru till the 3rd round. After you get qualified with the desired rank you have to go for counseling in your nearest IHM Centre(This was the procedure before Covid-19). After the Counselling, you have to go to the college on your given Admission date with all the Required Documents. There you have to follow all the Admission Process and after that, if you want to get Hostel you can get the Hostel form from there also.

I wanted to do Some Practical Courses and I Found the Hotel industry quite fascinating so I decided to Give NCHMCT JEE and tried to get top Ihms. The Faculty in Ihm Bangalore is quite Supporting and encouraging you'll find extremely knowledgeable Teachers here. The Faculty are here qualified enough they have done their bsc. then msc. degree and some have PhD degree and another additional degree they also have great experience of Hotel Industry. You'll have a Total 6th Semester, and Every Semester will have Mid Term exam also Which is conducted internally. You will also have to give Ignou exams every year in the Summer which is compulsory for completion of your bsc. degree.

In the Second Year, you have to go for Industrial Training for 4 months. The College Organised interviews with Different Hotels students have to tell their preference for Hotels. Hotels like Oberoi, Conrad, ITC, Marriott, and Taj takes students for internship every year. The Max stipend you'll get is 2500-5000. The IET will help you get a good experience of the Hotel industry and you have to work in the 4 main department that's compulsory for completion of your training.

In the final year, from September the placement starts. Different retail, Hotels, and Qsr chains come for Placements. Hotels like Oberoi, Taj, ITC, etc, and Retails like Tommy Hilfiger, Bata, Puma, and Blackberry come. An outlet like Starbucks, Domino's McDonald's also comes in the placement they offer Positions like Management Trainee, Operational Trainee Associates and other position related to the company and outlets. Before the Pandemic The percentage of placement was great but after the pandemic, very few companies came.

You have to pay the fees Semester Wise the fees would be around 55-60k for each semester. Fees Generally increase every year and there's a huge hike in fees in previous years The college also Provide Scholarship for Reservation category. The college will also provide you with support in placing you for your Industrial Training. Every year college Organise Campus Placement for The final year student. On average 240 out of 250 students get placed in Campus Placement and for the rest students, the college also provide different opportunity to get placed.(This was the Situation before Pandemic)

There is a Theme Lunch that is organized by the Second Year. We also Have Annual Function, Sports Day, and many different occasions in which Chefs and Reputed Hospitality People come. We Also Have A Small Library in our college not many Amenities available in the classroom. There are different Clubs for different departments in our college like for the Front office we have a "faces" club For F&b "Bistromer" and Food production and Housekeeping "Gourmet Marshalls" and "Gharaunda" respectively.

The Hostel Provide by the College is 12km far from the College. The bus has been provided by the College after paying the bus charges you can also take Metro from Attigupe(Hostel) Metro station to Vidhan Soudha(college) it is the fastest mode of Transport in Bangalore BCS of the huge traffic. There is not many Amenities provided in the Hostel you'll get a fan, study table, cupboard and a cot for which you have to buy a mattress. No common Fridge or Washing Machine is there. Mess Food is not that great it's just fine. There's limited room in the girls hostel first come first serve mode works.You have to fill a form for the Hostel then a list would be posted for the allotment of The Hostel. If you want to get a Pg, Indiranagar and Vasanth Nagar is the safest and happening place but expensive. The Hostel room is 3 sharing rooms. Boys hostel is much bigger in comparison to girls Hostel but in my opinion, you should live in the hostel for one year atleast it would be the best part of your college life.
