Remarks
So I selected this college due to its placement records which are being recognized throughout the country. In addition to it when I joined this college it was not a crowded one and an ample amount of resources were there over one head. The bad aspect was that there were no ample resources, particularly for mechanical engineering. This college was being preferred by me considering that it is situated in a metro, plus the placement prospects are good in spite of being lagging in the core engineering fields. Yes, I referred to collegedekho and shiksha.com.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have been always interested in mechanical engineering, learning machines, exploring them fascinated me. Faculty to student ratio is very good for students one lecturer has to attend nearly 40-60 students. Regarding branches such as cs, IT, ECE faculty is well qualified but lacks the qualified staff in core branches although there has been a comprehensive improvement. Term exams are of moderate difficulty and exams do happen at their right time.
Internships Opportunities
Mostly internships are offered to the people who are well verse with coding and tech roles irrespective of the branch. Core comapies do visit for internship but they are few, two or three. Hero and HLS were the ones that visited for core profiles. While Airtel, Bain, KPMG, Delloite etc were the ones which offered tech and non-tech roles. So for projects we can approach are allotted mentors who are professors, we can approach them with our own idea or can ask them to allot us a project, they always have some projects. We are always allowed to use paid software using college credentials. Most projects are research projects. Artificial intelligence projects are also quite common. I also did my heat transfer enhancement project using Ansys fluent software but could not access college software due to a pandemic situation. Off-campus opportunities are also there, we can also have paid courses on moocs.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from the 7th sem onwards. I have been made one offer and that too from collegedunia. Many companies visited mostly tech companies and few core ones. If someone is good with skills then they surely will get a placement given the brand name. Tech-related branch students are a better position to get a placement both off-campus on on-campus. About 150% placement is there for tech students while it is nearly 90% for core branches not considering they all get placed in the core sector.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fess hikes take place only in accordance with general inflation in the country in 4 years you can expect an increase of 50k. For scholarship, we have to be in the top 5% of our class. No, I did not get any such scholarship or financial assistance. assistance is there for J&K students.
Campus Life
Annual fest moksha takes place every year, tech fest related to coding and robotics are also organized. The college has its own gym and cricket, volleyball, football ground. Collegespace.com helps students to cope-up with college in the initial days. Many societies are there such as Prayas to help the disadvantaged through education, Enactus to develop entrepreneurial skills, and so on.
