View my university in my eyes

The University is founded by Dr Harisingh Gour in the year 1946. At that time it was known to be Sagar University because it is situated in the Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh. It was made a central university in the year 2008. There are a total of 32 departments and all are having great educational manufacturing. The lecturers and professors are highly qualified. For accommodation of students, there are 8 hostels present all total. It is a very good University altogether.

I chose this course because I want to do some research in the field of biology. The faculty students ratio is almost 1:20 for B.Sc. Students and for MSc students, it is 1:7 and for PhD students, it is 1:4. The facilities are well qualified all are with their PhD degrees and some of them have foreign degrees. They are very well qualified and the teaching method is fantastic. It is very difficult to pass the midterms and end sems because if you do not study well the chances of getting passed will be very low. The exam pattern is 2 midterms and one end sem per semester. And for PhD first a six months course work than research work for 4 and half years.

Some of our professors hire interns for their research work. They give some basic amount like 3000-5000 per month to each student to complete their internship. The exact role of an intern in our university is to help the PhD scholars to do their research work and by the end, the intern gets a higher exposure to the laboratory work and having much mastery in sophisticated instruments.

From the 6th semester, students get chances for campus placement. Some biotechnology companies and pharmaceutical companies come to the university for campus placement. 5-10 lakhs per annum is the amount offered by the companies.70-80% of students get placements after or even during the course. I plan to become an assistant professor after doing a PhD.

The fees are very minimal as it is a central university. The grant is given by the centre so you have to give only 4000 per semester which is very little. For a hostel, you have to give 1000 per semester for accommodation and food 2000 per month. There are different scholarships such as scholarships for post-graduation studies for lower-caste students and many more. You will be given an amount of 8000 per month as a stipend to continue PhD in this university as a UGC NON NET fellowship.

There are very least functions are celebrated by the university. An annual fest i.e, Gour Jayanti is celebrated every year on the 26th of November. The central library is a huge library with having a huge number of books. Probably 2nd largest library in India. Many books and journals are available in the library. Many classrooms are well maintained and most of them are converted to smart classes. The annual sports occurs every year. Cricket tournaments also occur every year. Gour Gaurav Utsav is one of the finest celebrations that occurred here in 2019.

The room is well furnished with a table, chair, cupboard and a bed. In BSc MSc hostel 2 of the above-mentioned furniture are available because there are basically 2 students who are alloted to each room. The meal quality is not so good because of the private mess system. The food provided to us is by a private organisation. The menu is having Rice, 6 rotis, 1 curry and dal. On Sunday morning a special meal is offered to us. The hostel is given based on the distance of the students home town and the number scored by him or her in the last attempted exam. If you want a rent house then it's preferable to stay in Civil lines or Gopal ganj or Manoroma colony which are 1-1.5 km away from the University.

The topic was you have to prepare a ppt presentation on your interest research topic. Then the teachers will question you upon your ppt presentation. So you have to be very prepared to qualify. The admission process includes 2 states i.e, entrance and interview. The entrance including 100 questions each having 0.7 marks and you have to score atleast 50% of the total marks i.e, 35 out of 70 to qualify for the written exam. Then you have to face the interview which includes 30 marks. Then at last your total out of 100 is to be calculated and decided whether you have passed or not.
